Just a bit of advice that has worked massively for me.

It doesn't matter how much you tell yourself "this is it, no more gambling" it'll almost certainly fade and you'll be back. Without doubt. 100%

For me getting rid of all physical cards has been probably the most important thing. You can get by with your virtual card in your Google or Apple wallet everywhere now with no limit at the supermarket or fuel station. I've even had a holiday and could use my phone on the plane and abroad no issues.

Then getting gamban on all your devices is the second thing. I've put it on my phone and computers and I'm sat here now with no means to access any sites.

This leaves me with no means to gamble at all.

Yes, I could order another bank card but this would take a few days and having to wait a few days isn't going to keep gambling brain happy so you never will.

You will get withrawal symptoms and you'll be glad of gamban and no card after a few weeks!

Some of you will have taken these steps but I'm sure many haven't.

Without a doubt the best thing I ever did.

Hi

The money was the fuel for our addiction.

You can take away the money which helps until you make the decision just for today I do not want or need to gamble.

The sequence in my recovery attend meetings.

Like minded healthy people gave me messages which were not in the text of GA.

Hand over access to funds and cards.

Go to meetings with deep therapies.

No matter when you last bet was keep going to meetings.

Most people think that they are the only people who broke out gambling.

Sadly going back to gambling helps us understand our last emotional trigger.

The more honest we are the less fear we live in.

The more honest we are in the mre trust comes into our lives.

The more honest we are the more we find the path to healthy emotional intimacy.

Healing Love and Peace to everyone.

Lovely post fogman I must certainly agree with every word you said in your post.

Best thing is we always say this is it I never gamble again

Once any amount of money becomes available you're back in action again.

Blocks could be in place for every problem gambler.

12 step program is also good.Even if you go through few of their steps.

Removing access to physical cards and using tools like Gamban are powerful steps to block gambling. Staying consistent with these measures helps break the cycle effectively.
