Hi there, this is my first post on here and I thought I'd start by saying that I've been gambling since I was roughly 17. This all started in a professional football enviroment as many addictions start. As a young boy who heard of older more senior players staking big and winning bigger I was entrigued and found myself aswell as many others betting on anything i could. When I was 17 I was using a fake I.D to get into local bookmakers however by the time I was 18 I had self excluded myself.

I am now currently 19 and have found myself this year to have gotten progessively worse. To telling myself and my girlfriend that my resolution at new year was to stop (as it has the past few years) I have found myself to be losing thousands of pounds on a weekly basis at times. I am still currently banned from all local bookmakers however It is online casinos I find myself at my worst.

I Have the gamban application installed on my laptop however due to having an iphone, there is always one casino I find in which I dont have an account with and end up depositing a healthy balance into. I havent found any apps which would stop gambling sites from working on my phone and I am now beginning to seriously worry about my 'addiction'.

If anyone has any techniques in order to help me that have worked for them I would be extremely grateful,

Mark

Thanks

The first step would be to remove the quotation marks around addiction. Put another way, it’s not just a bad financial habit, it’s an addiction. Accepting that it is an addiction is the starting point.

Mixer has a thread about practical blocks, link below.
