Hi and good to see you here and well done for deciding to rid yourself of this addiction.

Quick question - why do you gamble?

Dave

Im not sure i do suffer from depression and think if i have a good win it might sort out problems. I also know if i win i would gamble it to try and get a bigger win. Thank you dave

Hi Lisa - a very honest answer, thank you.

I am guessing two things, one, after a loss you feel even more depressed and two, you hardy ever win and if you do you end up losing it eventually. A majority on people here will identify with what you have said and are also very familiar with the saying ' I cannot gamble because I cannot stop'.

It does sound as if you need to speak to one of the specialists at Gamcare who will know straight away what to suggest that may help you. When you are ready give them a call and see how it goes?

In the meantime now that you have thought about why you gamble maybe now think about what is stopping you from stopping?

Dave

Well done for taking real steps to sort things out. I used to play the roulette machines and in about 10 years or so lost about 5k. In 2011 I self excluded from every single local shop and it pretty much sorted it. I dabbled online but found this to be an equal waste of time so left that to. I never lost more than i could afford or anything like that but hated losing and as we know you do lose in the end. I thought I could make money but it never worked out.

If you fancy it please let us know how your sessions go.

Dave
