http://www.barclays.co.uk/basic-current-account

I've seen a lot of people speak of wanting to remove the ease of gambaling online with there bank account!

And found this barclays do a cash only bank card. It has all the benefits of a normal bank card. But can't be used to purchase online product's or any online transactions!

The offer is open to everyone. And everyone is excepted for the card

Hopefully it might be of use to somebody

Hiya,

Today is my first day on the forum, and hopefully the first day of my recovery. Do you know if this bank account would allow you to have direct debits coming out of it. As I like the sound of this account as a means to restrict the gambling but would still need direct debits out for rent etc

Has anyone got an experiance of adding a notice of correction on their own credit rating to say 'Do not give a credit card to this person ATM" ? I am trying to find out if this is possible as a temporary thing, to prevent or delay a credit card application and also as it would be a volentary request does it has implications in the future to anything credit related. It may not be possible but I am sure I saw something about this action recently.

Hi,

We did it on my husband's credit reports for all three agencies. I wrote the letters, he signed. I've no idea about the long term implications for credit rating, from my point of view, the more negative implications, the better but in fact his credit rating is annoyingly high.

If he were to seek credit, he would simply ask to remove the Notices of Correction first. It's a barrier but not infallible.

Mr L has one lodged with all three agencies although Experian infuriatingly refused to add it on first request. It reads along the lines of not wishing to be offered any credit even if he applies for it and/or appears to qualify for it so it's a blanket request covering all applications. No idea if having it and then lifting it has implications for obtaining future credit but as far as I'm aware it doesn't leave a footprint much as I would prefer it to.

Hey Deano. 150 days well done. Well January has gone, had a pretty awful time work wise, but it's the time of year. Are you feeling a little lost because you cannot continue at the moment with your keep fit? I think this time of the year is depressing, dark mornings and early dark nights. Is there any other hobbies you could do whilst your injured? Its strange but since not gambling I seem to run out of time to do all the things I've restarted to do! But saying that, I've now got a dog so she has to be walked, I've joined a gym, I do some volunteer work, I see my friends more and in the next couple of months I have two exams to take, I have to go away to Cambridge to do these. I think I still have some deep soul searching to do as to why I suddenly started gambling at a late stage in my life, I've explored some but not all. Anyway I've decided to keep my title but I think you did the right thing in caping that particular one off. I think your a nice person Deano, you can tell from the time you take to help others on here, but I feel you may have a little work to do believing that you are. You have come along way, believe in yourself, like yourself x

Hi all,

I have previously had several years of throwing my hard earned cash away through online gambling and i findly found a solution to stop . i ordered a new debit card and asked my wife to open the letter and scratch the 3 digit security code off, because of this i havnt gambled online since February. Good luck if you try this - it worked for me !
