This addiction is consuming. I lied to my wife so many times, I feel so guilty. I had a relapse and I also felt like harming myself. 

gamcare helped me through the hardest of times, I’m still very early on in the stages of recovery but support is in place through beacon counselling trust.

I signed up to gamstop and sense, Gamban also installed on my phone as there are casinos out there which advertise on google which are not regulated by the gambling commission, one of which I used whilst on gamstop. Gamban software has blocked all these sites and even when I tried to uninstall it, it still won’t let you visit any sites. 

Every time I feel the urge to gamble searching sites, none of them are accessible. 

I feel more motivated now to stay away as I’m just wasting my time knowing I will not be able to access any of these sites.

As you continue on to understand the reasons why you gambled and acknowledge any gambling harms, I encourage you to remain motivated and affirm yourself for all the positives decisions you are making on a daily basis.

I am happy that you have also put support in place for yourself through Beacon this is confirmation of your commitment to your recovery.

You also mentioned the ‘lies told your wife, there is support for her should she want to explore the impact your gambling may have had on her through GamCare Family and Friends Affected Other Support which she can refer herself to via the 24 hour helpline on 0808 802 0133.
