@rock123 that’s good, keep it up. What you been doing to replace the habit. I’ve pretty much finished my finance so I’m pretty low risk to gamble at moment as I got to the point i only got pleasure from high risk betting. I have been drinking past few days but no gambling. I really am just accepting you cannot win. Might go to local GA meeting , we will see.
Today is the mark of a week gamble free. Painful and strange week as I have been drinking a lot to numb the pain but soon enough will have to deal with reality.
Just relapsed after 9days feel sick to my stomach. £270 gone in a matter of minutes.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having a hard time at the moment.
A lapse doesn’t erase the progress you have made, and it is positive you are seeking support here on the forum.

Hi Thisis,
No doubt it's a bitter pill to swallow, BUT you can use how you feel now to remind yourself next time temptation comes knocking on your door. Dust yourself down, get back on track & remember it ain't never too late to stop.

@thisisruiningmylife hi. I'm very sorry to hear you relapsed. What happened? Where did the £270 come from?
@thisisruiningmylife What do you have to lose before you say enough is enough and go and get the help that you need?
I know what you are doing isn’t working. Try something different. Find a meeting. I promise if you want to stop it will help you help yourself. I see it every week where people come in broken and week after week they get better.
Go get help.
Chris.

Read your earlier post 30th November, since then what blocks have you put in place ?.

Should have took the advice of the guy in the bookmakers just now £150 this morning on blackjack online and just done £150 just now on these S****y machines they don’t pay a penny!! Raging to make it worse the guy next to me won , f*****g furious
that’s it from tommorow I’m stopping no more
@thisisruiningmylife I couldn’t stop just by saying I was, and every time I walked out the bookies I vowed never to go back, but guess what? I always went back. Even though I really meant it, like every other time I said it, nothing changed in my life so why would I think I would stop this time?
Unless you make a change you are going to get the same result. Actions not words. Find the GA meeting you said you would look into. Phone gamcare and talk to someone who will listen without judgement. Talk to your family and ask for help, give away your access to money, all money. Do anything other than doing nothing. I double dare you.
Chris.
@chris-uk Hi Chris once again appreciate your response. I have a major headache today it all got too much for me gambling into the early hours hoping for a big win last night along side that pouring spirit down my neck. I was in a state.
@thisisruiningmylife No one can make you get help, you have to want it. All I can do is tell you how bad my life got because of gambling and I couldn’t get help myself until everything had gone. The difference is I wasn’t coming on here, I was totally immersed in it day and night.
You have a chance to just say that’s enough. You’ll never win. I’ll never win.
If you can’t find the meeting rooms at least phone the gamcare helpline. Give yourself a definitive break from this.
This is a quote from John Hartson that is so true.
“There are four places you can end up as a compulsive gambler: out on the street, in jail, dead, or at Gamblers Anonymous (GA). "I ended up at GA, thank the Lord, and it's not only saved my marriage and made me a better person, it's also saved my life.”
This could not be truer. I ended up at three out of the four. The fourth wasn’t far away.
Chris.
@thisisruiningmylife mate at 6.18pm you said you were stopping but then continued into the night? Surely you can see not putting blocks on your online accounts or barring yourself from bookies, then how are you going to stop? That should have been the first thing you done, maybe do that right now?
Affected by gambling?
