@thisisruiningmylife gambling is never the answer if you need money mate. It has been a long time since ive been on this. My last gamble was june 30th 2023. Been free from it every since and have the best life ever because of it. I dont once think about gambling, never get the urge. But the first couple months are the hardest, you do need support. Most important thing now is your realise how bad it makes you feel now you have relapsed. You need to make sure you dont go in tomorrow again and feel as bad again. Day 1 all over mate.
@rock123 thanks for your response mate and yes a new day tommorow. It is a horrible feeling indeed. I am just indulging in junk food now it seems to be a cycle.
Motivation has gone to an all time low... from not gambling since April it's crazy how much a single relapse can effect your mental state and make you feel worthless.Â
Dear "Thisisruiningmylife", just a message to say you are not alone. I can relate with the worthless feeling that you might feel, but please don't give up!! You are worth it and please keep fighting!!
@j2nxf0khgl Thank you Charlotte means alot. Hope your staying strong.

@rock123 Hello Rock
Thanks for checking in.
Yes I'm okay I haven't had the money or desire to gamble to be honest it's caused so much c**P in my life and held me back so much. I am trying to move forward in a new direction.Â
How are you?
Just had another relapse after 56 days was short on cash so I thought I could make an earned ended up loosing the last 100 pounds in my pocket. I'm not currently working so in a bad situation at the moment. I went in thinking it would just be 20 pounds but I loose control the second I start playing
Moved into a new place think it's all been overwhelming and having to fork out all this money led to a small relapse. I feel like c**P again.. not a great start to a new week at all.
When I walk into these gambling and slot shops the shame and guilt is so terrible . When the staff come and say would you like a drink knowing your about to loose 100x what the drink is worth. I give up on this addict lifestyleÂ
Hi Thisisruiningmylife
I am really sorry to hear that things have been a struggle for you again recently with these small setbacks. Whilst I understand you may be feeling a certain way right now, let's take some positives from the fact that you have been doing amazingly well focusing on your recovery and trying to abstain from gambling. Try not to be too hard on yourself at the moment as tough as that might be, there is light at the end of the tunnel for you and this is a process and a journey.Â
With how you have expressed you are feeling, I would suggest perhaps having a chat with your GP to see if there is any help or support they can give you for low moods at the moment, or if you ever feel in crisis, please call 111 and speak with a mental health professional.Â
You may also want to consider self exclusion with high street slot venues through BACTA. I will provide their details below:
www.bacta.org.uk/self-exclusion
Phone line: 020 39309769 - available Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm
Remember, if you ever need support for your gambling and just want someone to speak to, you can always call our 24/7 helpline on 0808 8020 133 or use our live chat/whatsapp service. We will always listen and help you where we can. You don't have to go through this alone.Â
Wishing you all the best

Just done half of the loan I took out on a slot machine told myself I've tried the other shop in town let's see if this one is paying out and same old story lost control and the rest us history.Â
Can't believe I'll be paying this loan of to go blow half of it in a matter of minutes again so P****d of with my selfÂ
Hardest month of them all . The slot machines in pubs and high streets really just eat money.. I didn't think it could get any worse than online gambling and casinos but it did. Now I wish I never went on sense and gamstop because I probably wouldn't of continually lost like you do when you play these m0va f#×##s which are in every pub and high street.
Affected by gambling?
