Hey, so I recently went a good 7-8 weeks without gambling and could finally see my finances going up to the point where I could finally see a light at the end of a dark tunnel. I thought that before long I would be able to get myself a car and start driving again and regain a bit of pride. One bad day at work and a relapse later and all my savings from the past 2 months gone. The demoralising feeling of having been working 60hr weeks for nothing had returned. Back to square one again! I'm really struggling with this mentally and I am not coping well at work. All I can think about is how stupid i've been and how i'm completely skint again. My life due to gambling is just pointless!

Hello Sfc7603,

Welcome back to the forum, it is good that you have come here to talk about your recent lapse and access the support of the other forum users. It sounds like you feel down about your recent relalpse and having made progress of having stopped for 8 weeks. You should also acknowledge a positive there that you did manage to stop for 8 weeks and that in itself is something very positive, we encourage people to use the relapse as a learning tool, to help you to understand your gsmbling behaviour better and find some positive coping strategies to prevent future relapses.

Please feel free to speak with one of our advisors (freephone: 0808 8020 133) who can talk to you about the different services you can access, and some practical steps and information you can begin to implement to help you on your recovery journey.

Thank you for your contribution.

Warm Regards
