will I ever regain the value for money as Gambling made me loose it, advice please . Thanks
Yes...you will....when you've stopped gambling....I'm only 40 odd days gamble free but I've already got to the point where I cherish every pound....it's my money now .....not the slot machines....good luck xx
You understand the value of money more when you don't have it.
A lot of gamblers don't see gambling winnings in the same way they see their own hard earned money. For example, you walk into the bookies with £20, turn it into £100 and then lose the £80 profit and return home with the £20 you came in with. You might be annoyed that you lost your profit, but in the back of your mind I am pretty sure a lot of people think "well, I haven't made a loss". That's how the value of money depreciates. In my opinion, you worsen the situation by categorizing money as "hard earned money" (i.e work salary) and "gambling winnings" in your mind. Once you do this, as most gamblers do, you start to naturally inter-change your hard earned money with your gambling winnings. You'll start to pay your rent with your gambling winnings whilst putting your salary into the FOBT.
After you stop gambling, you will not have this distinction between "gambling winnings" and "hard earned money". You will only have hard earned money, and once you step away from gambling you will start to treat it as such.
over the last 4 years ive had total disregard for cash ,crazy now when i think of it. What sort of sane person in an average paying job like mine walks about with 2 grand on them . Or thinks nothing of putting a months salary into roulette machines in a couple hrs. In a way money has been a curse for me this last while , twice ive had a chunk of it and twice ive blown it. I will learn my lesson now ... got too.
