As I mentioned in my introduction post I have been gambling now for 12 years and I have decided enough is enough; this is my diary now, no more messing about; theres no halves, no i'll just have a small flutter as I have realised there is no such thing with me; it always ends up bad. Not in a terrible situation right now but I am in a lot of debt which I just need to get around which I will do after my holiday, today will be my first day gamble free. I hope I can kick this evil horrible habit for good. I just want my life back.

Good luck mate! From my own experience the diary does really help and there are a lot of good people on this site that will support you all the way.

Thanks JW, felt good today although the temptation was huge today to gamble but I know if I do I will lose everything this time. Just keep thinking about the holiday which is pushing me forward, I am going to really struggle this week in terms of cash but if I were to gamble the struggle will only be worse.
Relapsed after 2 days because of payday, got £400 coming out of my bank account tomorrow to pay for a holiday which will get rejected as at my limit, my girlfriend doesn't know, I hate myself.
sorry to hear you relapse Aaron
Do you attend gamblers anonymous meetings ?
I first went in my 20's and 30+ years later I wish I had stuck at them.
You can't solve all your problems straight away, be it financial or relationships.
But you can stop gambling a day at a time.
Hello Aaron
Sorry about your relapse. Payday is a difficult time. I'm wondering whether you have any measures in place to protect your money and make it more difficult for you to gamble? You don't say what kind of gambling you have a problem with.
There are a lot of tips about blocks you can put in place, financial measures you can take, help with debt, and advice about behaviour change, over on our website here:
