Day 27
and I still haven't gambled away any of my hard earned pay! On any other month in the past 5 years it would mostly be gone now.
My Saturday nights used to consist of firing up the laptop, going on a couple of different sites and gambling without thinking of the ramifications. Last night was different, I couldn't even be bothered to turn the computer on.
Overall it was a good day, as Ice Cube once said. I had to help my parents with a few chores (I was NOT looking forward to it, and the skint me would probably have flown off the handle at something really trivial) but it went well, I felt happy and the jobs got done with minimal fuss. As Borat would say, "great success".
I just know that even if I gambled a small amount I'd fall into another funk, and spend the rest of the month waiting for the next payslip.
So the money is staying put, safely in my bank account. I have a few necessary expenses this week (renewing car tax and passport) plus I should really think about putting my car in for a service.
The urges are definitely there, but are nowhere near as strong as I thought they'd be. I just need to keep busy and think long term. If I can go through to my next payslip (26 Feb) gamble free then I'll be one happy bunny!
