Your 100% right, my friend won couple hundred off my tips and was literally so happy, couldn't stop thanking me.. But if it was me I would've even been 'good win, but still want more' or 'why didn't I put more money on'

But yeah I saw exactly the same, people over Twitter winning thousands from small stakes and was happy for them.

But yeah I'm glad I don't bet otherwise would go till I lose it, 3 weeks ago I won 3.5-4k from 100 pounds.. Would've cleared 75% of my debt, but no I wanted more and lost loads, managed to walk away with 1k which I felt like was nothing

Cheers Ade,

Yeah I think the one day at a time is best, otherwise I get ahead of myself!

But yes especially as I'm 20 and young and got future to look forward to I have to stop, wasted too much money and time on gambling and lost too much money and friends because of it!

But thanks for reading and commenting, helps me to keep going

No Problem D,

I am 45 now, I only really gambled compulsively for about the last fifteen years. I did gamble from 18 to 30, but only occassionally. It was never a problem for me then, as I had other interests and hobbies. I'd love it if you take a path away from gambling now at your age my friend.

Channel yourself towards other things in life. Family, friends, hobbies, sport, etc......anything that does not lead to gambling addictively. Now is the time to make that change for the better....YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

All the best

Ade

Day 8 - No betting..

Starting to feel in control now, especially seeing today's football results and knowing I would've lost on it all shows I made right decision!

Now to look forward to 2015!

Thanks, but late last night or early hours of this morning I hit rock rock bottom!!

Was bored so ended up finding a site i hadn't used before lost 200, then borrowed 200 from a friend to chase my lose and lost that too! 400 lost in matter of hours, feel like c**P especially now as I have nothing, letting myself and everyone else donw, plus the money i had was for my mum and for driving lesson plus my driving test coming up!

So now I need to borrow more money to get me through January.. Argh, why did I do it, was doing so well.. I'm entering a Debt managment plan today so 2015 debts will be controlled by a company, my parents will take my money and it will be a better year.

sorry for the let down

Listen D,

You have to remember why you came here to this forum, and started a diary my friend.

Stop, take a deep breath and think about it................. You have to change.

Make that change now my friend before it's too f*****G late.

I'm here to support you, but you have to want to do this.

Keep strong

Ade

Cheers NT,

I know i'm young and now is the best time to stop that's why I had to admit the problem to myself and come on here.

Yeah that is my thinking, that was yesterday/last year and this is the year I really kick on, sort myself out and save a shed load of money!

Thanks for the message and don't worry about how harsh you want to be with me, the harsher the better i think.

Thanks,

D

Hi D,

I hope you have had a good day my friend.

One day at a time is all you need right now.... keep getting through each day in isolation and build that strength that you will need when the urges hit you.

All the best

Ade.

P.s: The next time you get that urge, try and fast-forward your thinking to your post-bet feeling when you have lost all your money.......It works for me, everytime....

Hi Ade,

Today has been good day thanks, new year new start, I know that's a cliche saying but for me it really is, the last time hit me really badly and I can't have that again!

Thanks for the messages and that, helps me come back each day and keep on going!

Also I like that thinking, my other way now is to think what else I could spend that money on or I also have a cousin who helps, so he said if I get an urge tell him and transfer my money to him to hold so can't do anything!

Hi D,

Glad that you had a better day yesterday, and I hope today has been good too.

Really want you to put those barriers in place my friend. And if it means giving control of your finances to someone else, you really have to do it. It's hard to admit, but if that's what it takes in order for you to stay away from gambling then just do it....

Keep strong and enjoy your gamble-free weekend D.

All the best

Ade
