Day 41

Should be keeping this thread more up to date on a regular basis, my bad. New year and still no gambling. No smoking as well for the last 15 days. Shouldnt be but doubling this thread up a a stop smoking page lol. No new years resolution, but obvious to anyone reading this what they would be. Got a lot of time on my hands now, studying and work feels some of it. Though need to take up some new hobbies & interests. Stay strong everyone.

Day 50

I'll admit, great start to the new year. No gambling and no smoking for a month. Keeping myself busy with studying & work. Life is a bit boring at the moment and seriously dole, will have to start looking at doing more things with friends. Thinking of creating a bucket list of what to do with my life. I want this to be the first gamble free year of my adult life.

Cracking stuff, 50 days and counting and no ciggies, something I need to quit as well. I'm the same as you, life is dull and need to in time do more and get out but I'm hell bent on paying debts as opposed to spending more and adding more debt just for entertainment, at least Jan and Feb are rubbish months, most people stay in and are skint!

Keep up the great fight!

Hi Wilsy

Think more and more people are investing in home entertainment. Time you go out for a pizza, couple of drinks & a movie, like £60 a head, crazy. Thanks for the support, giving up smoking is not easy. But seriously proud of myself for getting this far, will take a lot to make me go back. Hoping the best for you this year.

Hi mattick

You are quite right in what you have said on my diary that people who play FOBT's very rarely smile. Totally agree with your first post, 'I want a normal life'. So many times the family had been shopping in the arndale centre for 4-5 hours and all I achieved was running from bookies to cashpoint in a frenzy, repeatedly. On one occasion I never left this one bookie for 5 hours hundreds of pounds down.

Keep up the good work.

Shaun
