Just a thought, you can search on this site and sites similar to it and you will find stories and stories on how gambling has destroyed lives. You never hear about anyone buying a new house or car because of a big win at a casino or bookie.

It makes me wonder, either all of us on this site are unlucky or are the odds ALWAYS stacked against us.

Keep fighting.

We can win big m8 but we always try and get that buzz again and we end up losing a lot more than we original won. So they is only ever 1 winner and it aint us.

Hi

Got to keep focused now, some important milestones coming up.

This Friday it is 6 weeks gamble free, 8 days after it is 50 days and a week later it is 2 months.

Do you know folks, this giving up gambling lark isn't so bad after all.

Good luck everyone!

Good work Shaun. Keep it going. Don't let yourself get complacent. Never forget what a waste of our precious time and money it is to gamble.

Onwards and upwards pal.

Great job Shaun,

I'am right there with ya, 6 weeks today gamble free. Stay strong, one year is amazing, you can do it again and beyond last time. Tell your buddies your life is more important then gambling. They sound like good friends, they'll understand. I'am gaining alot of strength as time goes on and I continue my journey. I wish you the best in your recovery.

Sincerely,

Chicagoguy

Sean,

Your diary has struck a chord with me. Recently, I went ten months without gambling but started back after visiting a casino on my Christmas night out. Previously, I had went three months and relapsed at the same night out the year previous. I am back on Day 1 after a few mental weeks but I am as determined as ever to succeed. Like you, I managed to stay out of the bookies and it was great but the challenge of not going to the casino after a night of drinking proved to difficult. This year I will make an excuse and go home early. It is rubbish but that is what has to happen.

Six weeks without gambling is great and I imagine you have started to see some of the benefits of that. The mental benefits for a start are a joy. I look forward to the night I can go to bed and not thing about a roulette table or the mess of my bank account. When I do that I will know that once again I am on the right track to freedom and everlasting happiness.

Keep up the good work.

Tomso.
