Baljit, you really are the most frustrating compulsive gambler I have ever come across, we dont want to hear daily weekly or whatever how much you have lost, we are all trying to stop gambling and you use this diary as a confessional, but you do not do anything to help yourself. You will never ever stop you are far to weak to even try.

Maddie21, i think Baljits in that position where most of us have been its called denial. I remember those times when I used to say its ok I'll win it back and then go back and do it all over again. It takes some of us alot longer to realise we have to do something about it. He's made the first step by posting on here but after that nothing else to show himself and us that he's commited.

I agree telling us he's so much left and then telling us he's gambled so much regularly which is what most of his posts have been about isn't a positive thing and I hope he sees sense and starts being more open and honest about himself and why he thinks he is still gambling rather then waiting for a miracle to happen so we can help try and support him. Baljit stop asking us why your still gambling and start telling us why so some of us can offer you advice from our experiences.

Come on Baljit mate, I'm rooting for you and am sure you can take the next step to give up.

I personally no longer respond to this person, because until he starts to help himself, any support and energy I give him will be wasted.

Until he self excludes, and removes his access to money he will continue to gamble.

Baljit, have now put bet-blocking software on your computer to prevent further temptation? Have you also self-excluded from the bookies?

Baljit

What are you doing to yourself mate?

Take a step back and read your own diary right from the start.

There are lot's of us on here who stumble but it seems to me that you are going for the record on it.

You really need to take some of the good advice that so many people have offered you.

You know you have a problem but you have to show some real commitment if you are going to succeed in arresting the disease.

I repeat some of the suggestions alsready made:

Get help, tell someone about it, wife, GF, friend, just anyone you can confide in and talk to about it.

Hand over control of your money to someone you can trust.

Consider GA

Go see your GP, there is help there.

Self exclude from all bookies in your area.

If you gamble online get blocking software.

Post and read on here regularly and please let some of the genuine serious stories of the destruction that awaits if you continue to gamble sink in.

C'mon Baljit, you keep coming back on here so take some of the good advice, show some commitment and get your gambling free life started.

DD

Sorry to everyone best thing i have done i have filled a exclusion form banning me for 2 years from *** and all the othe bookies had to give them photos of my self ! i did ban myself before for 1 year and did not bet at all , after the ban went back, that why i have banned my self for 2 years longer than before.

I got paid this Mon 25th Oct 2 days ago and have been in the bookies and lost about £900 over two days which was out of £1107 a months wages worked my guts for 12 to 13 hours a day start work at 5.30am till 7.00 pm.

Then go the bookies after work at 7.00pm or spend my day off in the bookies and on the net which have i have to get a progam which bans ne from internet sites.

should have given my wife £1000 for rent and bills, food. i told her last night i lost it she went mad i was going to move out , thats why i had to ban myself i was betting to get some money but you never win , because christmas is coming i do not want to be skint with no money like last year , with my work theres loads of overtime so now i can work hard give Novembers wages to my wife should not be going through this, this month how we will pay for bills, food, Lucky i walked out and gave the Exclusion form ! I will give my wife some of the £200 i have left i normally lose the lot have not a penny left for the month. This is my last chance my familys had a enough keep saying you going to stop .

NEW START FROM TODAY WED 27th OCT 2010

EXCLUSION STARTS TODAY !

MY LAST BET WAS ON TUE 26th OCT 2010

MY FIRST DAY OF RECOVERY WILL BE WED 27th OCT 2010.

Let me be the first to welcome you to day one in recovery. You know, there is so much help for you, if you want it.

Goodness knows how you and your family managed if you were loosing all your wages. Anyway. I am rooting for you.

Me too, I echo Graham's comments, Baljit

This is a difficult thing to come through but I have not given up on you.

We all finally recognise when we have had enough. I hope that this is the time for you.
