Hi all ive been doing well, its been really hard tho. At one point i only had £2 spending money for a week. but i came out with 85p, just got milk.

All this was because my bank sent me a letter that they where closing my bank account and where giving me 2 months notice. its all my fault as i was always in overdraft cause of gambling and i guess they didnt like it. plus gambling transactions.

Anyway ive switched to another now and have no overdraft which now ive not gambled for a whlie i can manage. i feel im moving forward. still have blocks in place place like no internet at home and limit the amount of cash on me. Its gonna be over a year say jan 2017 till i pay off most of the credit cards i owe on. But time is a healer and im looking forward not back but also remembering the bad sad mad days too.

Ive had a few lapses since i was last on but still going in the right direction. i have money in the bank to pay the bills. and debts are slowly going down. The only thing i need to do is stop walking in the bookies its that simple. dont ever walk in one again.

i have been on my own and have done for sometime now. I can have days when i talk to no one i guess thats why i went to the bookies for a bet, just to get out of the house. I could have gone shopping or watched a film but i did this stupid thing instead. im waking up more and more from ths hell ive been in for years losses are getting less and less. i

im gonna try and not walk in the bookies again from now on. its so simple so easy but yet so hard. done all the excluding i can, just if im in another town, place the urge is maddneing and crazy.

i cant really spend any money for the next few weeks cause i wanna pay the bills then after that i will be ok.

i know how you all feel out there its heartbreaking i hate this i dont think you can ever stop being a gambler but i can control it and im up for that at least i wanna live again be free of debt and happy roll on 2017 when i wll be debt free

Hi carlsimon....not sure if you know but the bookies have just started a new scheme where you can phone up an exclusion line and exclude yourself from every shop that you can think of with just 1 photo. You speak to them on the phone, give them details of shops where you are likely to visit, upload a photo or send 1and they send the info to these shops. I completed it the other day, must have excluded from around 30 shops.

Hi all. im still on the straight and narrow. Ive still got no money because of 2 loans and 2 credit cards. they are going down by 750 a month still got a year to go. Ive not had a bet for 8 days and feel better for it. printed out monthly calandars and stuck them on the wall and i cross off everyday i have not gambled and i have put it where its right in front of me when i wake up every morning. and cross another day off everynight. I hope this works just another block/help to get me through all this I really hope i never bet again. It has ruined the last few years of my life not being able to do anything buy anything. Ive still got another year of this but paid 7k back this year which is not bad 15k to go.

sorry for rambling just had enuf of it all.

Congratulations on your 50 days Carl!

reading your diary is giving me the strength I need to kick this dirty habit, I'm new quitting gambling so iv never had a relapse and I'm not really in any debt but the urges of going in the bookies are still really strong, can you tell me how you felt when you placed a bet after giving up? Was it a feeling like you wanted to carry on gambling or a feeling like s**t where you never want to gamble again? I don't want to start again from day 1 but my head just keeps saying have a little bet it will be alright :S

any advice would be great!

congratulations again buddy keep it up!

Ive not wrote on here for a long time. I have realised that gambling makes you poor and you would be better off never doing it. In the last year i have gambled , i dont think i will ever stop , i just limit the cards money etc everyday. i feel for you all its a hard road ahead, but it starts with one day at a time.
