WOW, 85 days of winning, brilliant 🙂 You really are reaping the rewards for making the right choice everyday! Over priced hot chocolate sure beats the 'free' drinks I used to get in the shops!
Thank you so much for dropping by this morning...I have been overwhelmed by the support & am struggling a bit for words (I know)!
You really are doing great & as long as you face football season with the same steely determination you have shown throughout your journey so far, you will be able to enjoy it for the sport that it is!
Keep up the good work - ODAAT
Just weighed myself there. I got weighed at the doctors 2 days after I stopped gambling. After weighing myself there I have put on 2 stone. Be all the extra McDonald's and Chinese's I've had. I feel sometimes I have to spend the money I have so.I'm can't gamble so I buy food. Not good but at least I have money to buy these Luxury's.
Well done on your progress so far, dont worry about the extra weight things will level off. I also have that urge/ desire to spend money or do something, i am often finding i will go out for a costa and a read of a newspaper. I think i would have put 10 stone on if it had been mcdonalds, have you tried their Chicken selects meal... delicious
Hi Jamie,
Thanks for your message on my diary. I completely relate to your desire to spend money rather than waste it gambling. Looking back my previous attempts to stop gambling all seem to have begun with a spending frenzy on my wife and children. I think this is partly guilt that I havn't been able to do this when I was wasting money gambling. I have also found putting a small amount of money away on a regular basis for my wife/children has helped me over the past couple of months of my recovery. It is amazing how quickly it builds up.
Keep up the great work.
Best wishes.
Dave
Today is day 91. If I make it through today I will be 13 weeks gamble free. However for the first time in a while I'm struggling. I had a work night out on Thursday and football yesterday. I had a set amount for both nights and now today I have quite a bit left in my wallet. I was standing outside a bookies there for a full minute weighing up whether to put a coupon on. A ten pound coupon. Thankfully I haven't I walked away. Gonna be a long day
Walk away my friend you are doing really well and making the right decisions. Nearly at the 100 mark, i have just one day to go until the big 100!
You can do it, keep you head up and keep busy
Don't let it all come crashing down now Jamie! One little bet sounds harmless enough but it opens the floodgates! Today is a pivotal point in the recovery road (I had one @ exactly this point)...I'm led to believe 90 days is a GA milestone so this is the addiction trying to drag you back before you slip properly from it's clutches! You will get past these urges & be all the stronger for them, I know you can do it!
Put that spare money in a holiday account to help pay for the hot chocolate next time you go away, go buy a pair of trainers so you can start working off your Maccy D's, buy the missus some flowers, just whatever you do don't give it to the bookies in a misguided attempt to double it or have 'FUN'! We cannot win because we cannot stop but you've been winning for 91 days - ODAAT
Day 91
Thanks Luke and ODAAT both spot on.
Well I didnt bet. I came home and lay in bed for a while. I then got up and paid 60 pounds for me and the Mrs to join the gym.
Delighted I didnt undo all my hard work.
13 weeks gamble free
Hi ya, it's from figures suggesting that 3% of people that walk into a GA room make it to a year.
Brilliant work today on all fronts 🙂 Joining a gym has been great for me & sounds like just what you need 😉
Way to go on 13 weeks 🙂
Onwards & upwards to triple figures now - ODAAT

Thanks everyone for the comment's. It's good people in this forum which make it a success and help us beat this addiction.
I had a dream last night I gambled. I woke up so disappointed as I was so close to 100. The relief when I realised it was a dream.
Thanks again everyone away to bed nightshift tonight.
