I also had a dream about gambling last night, i was at a big fancy casino playing blackjakck, losing lots and lots of money... it felt so real i remember the dispair in the dream. i woke up with that same terrifying feeling that i used to get after a big loss. it took me some time to realise that it hadnt happened.... when i finally realised it was a dream i was so relieved.

107 days ago was the last time I lost money due to gambling. I've took my family on holiday sorted a plan to pay my mum back. Being able to treat my kids every couple of weeks makes it very worthwhile.

2 things that have helped me is being on this site and speaking to the great people on it. Secondly telling my family and doctor who have all been very supportive and don't throw the past up as I start a new chapter. Not on here as often as been doing a lot of overtime to help lay off my debts. Next month I'll be pretty much debt free.

120 days complete

Been really busy with work and family life that I've not posted on here as much as I like.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post since I stopped gambling ive put on a lot of weight. Joined the gym and I weighed myself today. Lost a bit. Not as much as I've put on but getting there.

Was at my doctors the other day he was asking how I was getting on with the gambling. He was full of praise when I told him how far I've come and now a lot of my health issues are disappearing.

I'm gonna go into the new members bit and write a few posts let them know its possible and very worthwhile.

Great to see a Doctor offering praise where it is truly due & thanks once again for dropping by 🙂

Don't you worry about a few extra pounds, just being @ the gym will improve your health & fitness & with you taking care of the family stuff, life must really be picking up! Don't feel pressure to post, you have so much going on, this should be a place of comfort when you need it or have time to enjoy it!

Keep winning & be proud of you - ODAAT

18 weeks complete

First 2 dairies I read today where of people who had both made it over 100 days have a relapse. Hopefully they havent done to much damage and can get back to doing what they where doing.

As for myself this week I've had urges to gamble. Thankfully the triangle is in place for times like this so when the urge to.gamble appears I can't gamble.

Reading those 2 diaries earlier own further highlights that you can only do this one day at a time. Every day gone is a success.

Hi, I just read your last post and wanted to try and give you a bit of encouragement.I know that feeling when you've got the urge to gamble, but you know that it will pass if you hold out for long enough. I was on the point of cracking earlier this week. The desire to gamble felt really strong and I was mentally working out ways to get around my broken triangle. I ended up distracting myself and an hour or so later, I was calm again. I was so grateful that I hadn't caved, as I know that it wouldn't have ended with one bet and the whole sorry cycle would have started again. You know that too, which is why you're going to do whatever it takes not to give in to temptation.

We all have triggers and times/feelings that we associate with gambling. Like you, one of mine is the kids 🙂 What else can you do at those times to give yourself a break from the noise? Go for a walk/run...watch a film...meet up with a mate...go out for lunch with your partner....sort out the shed? I don't know what it might be for you, but there will be some other way to get the relaxation you need.

Is there someone you could talk to to say you're feeling tempted? Or read back over your diary from the start as a reminder that you never want to go back there. You will get through this and it won't be like this forever. Make sure you keep that triangle broken though. You don't want to be another person who relapses after a long stint gamble free.

Day 134

Managed to get last my urges the last couple of days thankfully. Once I had come on here and spoke to some people it made it a lot easier to deal with.

There was tennis and rugby on plus football my 3 main betting sports. The amount of money I have lost betting on those sports is scary. Well I'll never lose another penny to them again.
