It's my last day at work today before I'm off for two weeks, during which time I'm going on holiday with my girlfriend. Luckily, this was paid for before I started gambling again, although I don't have much spending money. I won't be posting here as of Friday as I doubt there'll be much chance while I'm away.
I hope that when I come back I feel refreshed and ready to push on from where I am today.

Back from my hols now...
Not much to say at the moment, but I want to get back into the routine here.
Welcome back mate, hope you enjoyed your holiday and will catch up with you soon, once you are back in the routine of things.

It's been something of a struggle since getting home from my holiday. I've done very little and the boredom has led me to thinking about a trip to the bookies to play the roulette. I've even watched YouTube videos of so-called systems and tried them out on a free roulette game - I didn't win on either of the times I tried, but I'm still fighting the urge to go and play for real.
Must stay strong and just for today not gamble.
Hi Mate
Steer clear of watching roulette or stimulating yourself this was the bit that ruined me.
Michael
Ride the tide Paul, don't give in to those bad thoughts, you have come so far and it would be awful for you to have to start again, stay strong.

Thanks, Mike and Wilsy.
I'm pleased to say I rode the tide and didn't bet - I would have woken up this morning feeling awful about myself.
It's back to work tomorrow after two weeks off and I'm quite looking forward to things getting back to normal. I've got three or four things coming up over the summer months to look forward to - and as long as I don't gamble will be able to afford to enjoy them all.
hi paul,
well done for not gambling despite the urges.think only how sad you will be after loosing your hard earned money(because you gonna loose on roulette...thats for sure...i was a rulette player...only loosing)
be proud for your self.we are making a very hard recovery mate.gambling addiction is as strong as alcohool or heroin.especially roulette is called the cocain of a gambler.
we were the unlucky ones to fight with this disease in our life but when we ll be cured we ll look back and be proud of what we done for us and our famillies.
take care

Back to work today and quite pleased that things are returning to normal.
I went for a bike ride early this morning for the first time in months as I'm now trying to lose some weight. Hopefully this will build my self-esteem and make beating gambling that bit easier.

Just plodding along nicely, no gambling problems.
Starting to spend a little money on myself again, nothing extravagant, i.e a new book, drinks from the machine at work etc. Things are still very tight, but in 170 days it will not be so bad. The debt will stil be there, but should be a lot more manageable.
Hi Paul
Well done, keep focussing on each day and the rest will look after itself, good luck with the weight loss, have a great day,
John

I've had quite a few gambling thoughts today - most along the lines of 'a quick £20 won't hurt' 'it would be fun to have a few football bets'
Anyway, I know that falling into these traps is fatal for me, so I've brushed them aside and come to the forum instead.
I seriously hope that I'm not going to be plagued by these thoughts for the rest of my days. It would be so nice to get to a stage were thoughts gambling don't even enter my head.
Affected by gambling?
