Thank you Drama. I appreciate your kind words of support and encouragement.
Earlier I went for a 2 hour walk around the marina, on the pier and along the riverside. Fresh air, peace and quiet and an excellent opportunity to think about my gamble free life and what I can do with it.
I have heard it said that God was born in Hull and on an evening like this I can well believe it. (Heavenly)

Radio singing 'Good Golly Miss Molly'
Monday morning and feeling jolly
Crazy machines with lights that flash
Are gone from my life so now I have cash
Time to go shopping and than have a meal
Slowly but surely the wounds will all heal

Nice little rhyme Steven. Glad that you still love your music. A walk around the marina sounds lovely - I sometimes walk south of the river near Barton, especially when there's a sunset. Recently brought a new pair of walking shoes for £24.99 which will be my last extravagance for a while.Â
Really pleased that you've found your mojo.Â

Great to receive your post Martin and pleased that you are ok.Â
Barton is indeed a lovely little village with pleasant walks alongside the river and I have been there for a stroll on several occasions. In 1984 I docked there on a small tanker delivering phosphoric acid to the fertilizer works. We tied up to a small wooden jetty (which is not there now) not far from the bridge.Â
Sadly my memories of Barton are now tainted because when I self excluded from all the gambling establishments in Hull I hopped on a bus a few times and lost my money in the Barton betting shops. So I don't go there anymore.
Life us good with me. I will be 69 in 9 days but it's only a number and I am feeling ok.
I went in Ann Summers today and said "can I have a thong please." The lady behind the counter said "certainly sir" and started singing "Some Enchanted Evening........."
Â
Another day gamble free and feeling pretty good
Keeping clear of betting shops because I know I should
Tomorrow is another day and I will smile and sing
Ready for the challenges that fate may choose to bring

Hello Diary.
Good news. An electricity rebate has gone in my bank so I am going to get some new shoes that are real comfy.
Bad news is I have toothache in one of my back teeth. Dentist is removing it next Monday and I will be glad when that's sorted out. I paid for the course of treatment at my check-up so don't have to concern myself with that.
Funny enough, although I have caused myself a lot of distress through gambling, I do not actually like pain or suffering and would rather do without it.

"The nights are drawing in and a nip is in the air."Â
But that dont really bother me in fact I do not care.
Sitting with my feet up feeling warm and snug
Worldly-wise gamble-free and certainly no mug
Heading for the promised land where all is hunky dory
My life from here on in will be a happy story
