Day 150!

Hi all, so today is another milestone in my journey. 5 months to be exact and I feel great.

In the last 5 months I have halved my total debt, had better performance at work, been on a small holiday, gone out and enjoyed myself and even bought a few things for myself! 🙂

I am really starting to feel and believe I can go the distance. Part of that is because of the fantastic people on this forum, so thanks 🙂

Day 158,

Its been over a week since my last diary entry, which for me is a long time.

I have been on the forum reading when I get a spare few minutes, however I have not posted. I feel so far away from any form of gambling and because I work in the industry and I am a regular on this forum, even though I have stopped gambling, it still plays a part in my everyday life. I just needed a break from it all 🙂

Hi Scambling,

I've read your diary with much interest and just wanted to add my congrats at your amazing achievement.

I even took the time to read your very first posts on here and have to tip my hat to you.. incredible how far you've come.

All the best mate, I hope you can rebuilt your relationship with your partner, gambling takes a lot from you - not just money - so I hope you work things out.

Mark

Day 167,

Been extremely busy, but having alot of fun. I realise that none of this would be possible if gambling still took my time away. Looking forward to my(our future) now and hope gambling remains far away from my mind, as it does now.

-Sonic Boom -Thanks for your reply and your support. It has been very difficult, as I work in a casino, but to be honest working there only helps to push me further away from it now.

Approaching the 6 month mark soon,

Thanks all 🙂

Day 179,

Afternoon all. Sunday will mark a big occasion for me. I will have hit the half a year mark. 26 weeks!

I have just had a wonderful 2 weeks and to be honest a very busy 2 weeks that I have barely had time to get on here and post!

I'm really looking forward to the next few months as my debts are almost out of the way and the feeling of having paid it back through hard work and not getting lucky from gambling will be a great feeling! 🙂

Now bring on the world cup, I'm really looking forward to cheer on England without the need of having to place stupid little bets.

Thats all for today 🙂

Congrats on the 26 weeks keep it up. I will join back in the 2014 challenge. The only goo thing i have done in the past 8 weeks was install gamblock. Its' awesome i cannot go to any site when the urge is big.. it has saved me a few times but i don't want to rely on that just using it as extra defense.

Will look for you on the 6 months mark

Wow, day 218....

No post for a while, mainly due to having 0 gambling thoughts whatsoever and also being very busy at work. Hard to find a bit of time for myself, but I'm not complaining.

In the holiday mode now, it felt so good to walk into the travel agents today and exchange the amount of money I had planned to take months ago.

Hope all are well!! 🙂

Day 239,

Thanks Duncan for your reply, I will continue to enjoy it 🙂

I hav'nt updated my diary for a little while, but I still read the forum's most days. Nothing new here, just enjoying life. It feels great sometimes when I look back and think to myself, how did I survive...?

Struggling for busfare, eating nothing but toast everyday and having no money to engage in social activity is no life at all.

Getting those first 3 months out of the way was crucial to my own recovery.

To those of you who may be having a hard time now, just stick with it... It WILL pay off!

Had someone in the casino last night who I could just tell was at rock bottom... He was saying that he had stopped for 4 years and had started again recently with small bets. He then said his credit cards are over their limit and he has no wages left.

Being a CG I can sympathise to a certain extent... I was a binge gambler who over the course of a couple of days lost everything I had(chasing) and then repeat every month or so.

I dont intend to go back, it does nothing for me now.
