Hi S

Glad I checked in on your diary as the last post is positive and inspiring. Dealing with the addiction on its own is hard but when you have loads of other things going on in your life it can be hard but you seem to be coping really well and enjoying life without this added stress.

Keep going mate, live life to the full and cherish every moment,

Take care

James

Hi Diary. Well Im still here loitering in the background. Days pass without a single thought of gabling. Still not counting but not relapsing either. Could gamble came into a bit of money via return of an old ppi but that went straight into the savings. Dont even want to think about using it for anything to do with gambling.

Thanks for yr kind words James. Thanks Cheryl for your support, you have so much going on but yr offering me support..... I hope others have said this but if not I want to, you really are a wonderful person. well to echo famous words I'll be back, reading diaries, lurking in the background and taking one day at a time. I wish every one here peace from this addiction x

Dear Diary. Well I could have gone on online slots, been alone all week in the evenings....... just 50, just a treat for a hard week at work. But boy would that have made me feel ashamed, pathetic, so I got out my knitting, sorted some paperwork and kept busy. Feeling bit smug, but not complacent cos I could so easily slip. Not today though, not tomorrow. Winning by abstaining. Feeling tempted but not that tempted.... Slowly getting there..... Winning by abstaining 🙂

Hi S,

I can't quite bring myself to call anyone stupid!!! lol.

I hope you know deep down that you are not stupid, but just human.

It is a great feeling to notice those urges getting less severe - well done! that is all down to your hard work.

Try to take a moment to reflect on that achievement, how hard it was at times, but how strong you stayed. It really feels like torture in the early days of arresting an addiction - I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

And hey, who cares if you end up with 900 jumpers due to all the furious knitting you are doing? It does less harm than the alternative.

Stay strong,

f x
