I joined 3 weeks ago and was good for a while. Lost a 4 figure sum tonight so starting a diary as I'm willing to try something new.

I was off work ill and bored at home. Thought I would use one of my low limit websites. Lost. Then I saw red! Joined a new casino and deposited a lot and lost. Familiar story.

I'm challenging myself not to bet until new year as of today (hope much longer). I will use this diary to help me.

No luck

Welcome to the diaries a place full of like minded who all share the same goal,to arrest the destruction that is our gambling

We all live the same life, the same mantra

I CANNOT WIN BECAUSE I CANNOT STOP

You can turn that upside down fella

The advice that helped me from day one

there is a triangle

Time-money-location

take one away at all times and the punt becomes impossible

Gifting the rational side of the brain valuable time to think.

You make youself a winner each day you make a choice to arrest that next punt.

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back

Thank you for your motivational wise words Dunc!

Had my first craving of the day but I came on here instead. Going to work late to keep myself busy then head home to spend some quality family time. I had an idea earlier today, I will transfer any excess money I have to my wife so if I 'do it' at least it will be damage limitation. It's pretty pathetic I have to think like that but I am not to be trusted. YET.

Happy bet free Halloween everyone

okay on day four and all going to plan. An occasional thought here and there but feeling quite good for now. I know all too well how things change in a second. I'm taking advice to safeguard myself just in case I slip up but I am very commited to succeed. I've taken short breaks several times but after a few pay cheques and a healthier bank balance I usually reward myself with a session or ten! Will make sure I move money out immediately and just leave enough. I think this is a necessary measure for now.

Keeping myself busy with work, family, friends and non-gambling related hobbies! I wish everyone strength in their own battles and let's all stop feeding these crooks. We have the power to make a differece.
