Second day without and it's been a bit of a tough one. When the footy is on I normally venture down for my usual bet and end up spending a packet on the slots while I'm in there. I wobbled a bit while I was walking the dog and almost fell at the first fence.
I managed to get home without the detour to the friendly neighbourhood bookie and cleaned the garage instead. So positives from today I'm probably 60 better off than I would have been if I went, plus I will get loads of brownie points when the good lady wife gets home.
As my brother keeps telling me who stopped gambling 4 years ago, 1 step at a time and I know I'm blowing my own trumpet but I think today I've taken a tiny step towards recovery.
Hi Miller
Tiny steps is good for recovery. While you are feeling positive you can resist the lure of the bookies or online gambling sites. Please be vigilant though as when your resolve is low you may be tempted.
One day at a time and you will do it.
Keep strong.

Well done for resisting and finding some positives! Little steps are better than no steps x
can you get yourself banned from your bookies? Why don't you spoil your self and your lady wife at end of the week to celebrate with the money you wont have given away to gambling x
keep posting and reading, we are all rooting for you x
best wishes Laura x
Hi Miller day 2 for me as well, great you resisted the urge, we all get them, but I'd rather resist gambling than regret gambling as I know I would, and you would, we all would, but it's an addiction a bad one, keep going and you will get there. My mum always used to say " be happy with what you've got, not what might have" should have listened to that a long time ago. Stay strong regards lisa
