Quick backgroud of what this is im going to try and post every day or so updating if i had any urges and how i dealt with it and how im doing with the whole situation. I think it will help getting anything of my chest which may help with stopping any urges coming on.

Day 2

This is the first day of my diary and we start at day 2. So 2 days ago i gambled alot of my wages away for the month and it was heartbreaking. I decided this is change i joined the sense programme and self excluded from alot of major online casinos and betting sites.

Im feeling good now ive got over what happened and looking ahead. I think im feeling this way because deep down i believe this is change. Im trying to filter out betting in my life. Not watching gambling videos, unfollowing/blocking any gambling pages on social media. Ive started going out with my girlfriend during the day to keep myself occupied and i hope this carries on because there is a whole world out there and the feeling of happines you get from that is a thousand times better than what you get off gambling.

Just a quick message for today but ill keep you guys updated.

Please feel free to leave a message with any questions or just a chat to help each other

Thanks guys have a good day:) lets beat this together.

Hello Sam.

I'm guessing by your post you get paid monthly? So it's good around that time of the month to be on your guard. Have you thought about giving financial control to your family or your girlfriend? As well get someone to scratch the cvv code from the reverse. It's then unless online. Well done on your second day gamble free here's to many more. Will look forward to reading more of your journey all the best for now

Tried the taking away of cards and giving control to a family member but by being a gambler i ended up learning every detail of my card and i even requested new cards but they are literally very similar on numbers maybe just the odd one different here and there so was easy to remember them. I believe that was one of the massive issues with my gambling ididnt need my card with me to deposit any money as i knew all the details..Im going to give my girlfriend eyes on my statements so she can keep me in line because i know if anything is on there gambling wise ill be in the dog house and to see the disappointment on her face will be heartbreaking.

Thanks mate more gamble free days to come.

Keep going Sam, you will get there. I was in that position, gambling my precious wages away. Keep them blocks in place, and maybe seek some sort of counselling?

Have a good week.

Julie
