So it's day 4 no gambling not a penny that is a massive achievement for me feeling pretty bored in the evenings though that's the toughest time

If you put blocks in place they dont have to be tough times. Blocks that mean its impossible to gamble. If that means having no cash in the bank (keep all cash in your house) or having blocking software on your pc / laptop. How about buying some boxsets to keep your mind occupied. Im currently watching Prison Break that i borrowed from a work colleague a few days ago

If the blocks are all in place and your mindset is 'I dont want to gamble' then the urges will be subdued. If your mind isnt in that place coupled with no blocks then you know what will eventually happen.

Yes your right sonic I have just subscribed to amazon films, so filling my time watching random films and TV series, I'm going get a blocking software as soon as I have recovered a bit of finances I'm also going to ban myself from all the bookies around

thanks for the support it really helps

Great advice Kirbs, the blocks really help when the urges kick in & keeping yourself occupied reduces that risk anyway...Reversing the cycle of gambling.

You say 4 days isn't massive but to every one of us on here who has promised & promised themselves 'no more' only to go straight back to it the very next day, it is tantamount to a lifetime & more importantly it is a lifetime that we enjoy living rather than the meagre existence we had when gambling. So you go with your 4 days & you keep adding another 1 every single day - ODAAT

Hello kirbs

Self excluding from the gambling sites is what helped me, once this is done there is just no way for you to gamble even if you wanted to cos you cannot log in to your accounts. You are also right about keeping yourself occupied as having time on your hands is probably the worst thing for us.

Stay strong, positive and take one day at a time and soon the days will add up

best wishes
