Day 40

Made it through the weekend at home, can't say I wasn't reading the bonuses on my emails but was laughing at them, one was offering me £10 to spin for free, wasn't tempted at all by them.

Every time I delete these I click unsubscribe but funny how they always seem to be Broken link eh??

Hi, Steve,

Would you consider taking a stronger line re these emails? There may come a point when one comes when you're vulnerable, it's happened to others and you don't need to fall into the same pit. Contact the betting company quoting name, address, DoB, account numbers etc and say that you have a gambling problem, you want to permenently self exclude and other than to confirm, they should not contact you by any means. We did this by snail mail and so far it's worked.

Well done on your gf so far, stay safe.

Of course you are right, these emails should be taken more seriously and I didn't make myself very clear, I have taken it very seriously by changing my email address I've been transferring for a month now and I will soon be able to close this address as I've tried to delete these emails but I'm sure once you delete and unsubscribe the company see no point in keeping you and sell your email address, I mean I'm sure a gambling addicts email address is vaulable to these company's

Had a strange feeling today, I got scared, it wasn't I was scared or gambling just of failing it stArted a horrible thought process full of what ifs. Strange as I had no thoughts of gambling at all but thoughts about the longer i don't gamble the higher I'm gonna fall, and the thought of gambling after so long scares me too.

Hi Steve , it's just the gambling devil trying to have his evil way with you when your not looking ! I used to suffer some really weird gambling related dreams , not right away but about a month after I stopped , used to wake up convinced I'd gambled or that I had no money anywhere to pay bills ! Really strange but they did pass mate and I'm sure your feelings will soon settle down again. You're not far away from your half century now buddy so stay positive and gamble free ! Have s great evening my friend !

Day 50

Gamble free for 50 days today, if I'm honest I'm not feeling great so tired from work and family life. Fed up of paying off dept which at the moment I'm putting every penny I have into them, paid off nearly 2000 this year, the cards I'm paying off have been distroyed so never going to let myself get into this mess again, on a plus side, paying off my loan monthly too so shouldn't be long before I see my balance growing. Probably shouldn't be putting myself under so much stress paying them but just want this whole ordeal over with so I can move on. Really don't feel like celebrating, feel like I've let myself and family down.

Good luck being GF.

Hi Steve

Congratulations on reaching your 50th day gamble free - still hot on my heels and right behind me!

I think you are right when you say you are putting too much pressure on yourself to rid your debt so quickly. I find on this forum that so many people become so impatient about wanting to pay off their debt, at the expense of feeling really miserable and unable to enjoy the joys of being gamble free.

Don't be too hard on yourself Steve - do something nice today just for you or buy yourself something you know you will enjoy, no matter how small.

Take care and chin up. Things are only going to get better and better for you if you stick with me, on "The Bright Side of the Road"!
