Evening everyone x counselling session yesterday was good. Felt great being able to be 100 % honest and say I haven't gambled for 2 weeks! Actually 15 days now which is fantastic. Pay day next week but I'm giving my mum my wages and she will give me an allowance each week. I do think I would be able to resist however I'm not taking any chances.

Forgot to say on my way home from counselling, Robbie Williams song 'feel' came on...don't know about anyone else but the words in that song really relate to how I'm feeling right now. Keep strong everyone xx

Ok...not really sure what happened but I've just totally let myself down. I've just gambled. I am so ashamed and am actually feeling numb. I was doing so well........I feel like I'm destined to be like this forever

Hi fotbnomore

Sorry to hear of your slip. Try not to be too hard on yourself. It happens. It's happened to me SO many times! But it usually makes you stronger in the long run as long as you forgive yourself, pick yourself back up, face the truth, brush off the shame and get back on with giving it up. I think when it happens to me it can be for a number of reasons to 'a bad day' or 'had a good day need a reward' or 'I've gone this long, maybe I can control it now'? Whatever the reason, learn from it a let it make you stronger.

Hope you continue to give up and keep building on your hard work than dwell on the negative.

We're all in this together and this is definitely the place to be for support and understanding 🙂

Take care

Well done for coming straight back but I have to ask, apart from counselling what barriers have you put up? You know Friday is a trigger day it was in one of your early posts about finishing & going straight to the bookies...Everytime you discover a trigger you need to implement measures to ensure that you don't ever fall @ that hurdle again! Have you told your partner yet, self excluded from anywhere? Counselling is great but breaking your Time-Money-Location triangle is vital in these early days!

You can beat this! Addiction is not a destiny but you have to work hard @ recovery - ODAAT

Hi everyone, apart from that slip 13 days ago I've been getting on really well. No temptation and made it through payday (first time in a year or so). Off away tomorrow to relax for a bit . hope all is well with everyone xx
