I would love to say hello to day two, but yesterday morning I did. £40 on a russian tennis match that I knew nothing about. Sod it. As that was my last gamble. Been ok today but work is busy and no money anyways. Going to watch a game tomorrow and I am sure my team will cover the handicap. But I guess I will always be sure. My bets always win went I don't place them. I must say just reading some of the stories on this site has given me a lot to look forward too. Thanks.

Hi, No money means no gambling. Are you making a plan for how you will handle urges when you do have money come in again (and I am speaking to myself on that one too!) ? Best wishes to you.

Cheers del. And carla, thankyou for your words. Months ago I started giving my girlfriend all the house keeping and saving. Its just my own money I have a problem with. I started doing was taking out payday loads to bet on sure things, and paying it back the next day. And its just got on top of me a little. A friend give me the money to help me catch up, but I did half of that in to. But I do feel I am getting back on top. Get paid Tuesday, pay off payday load, and try and work out a way as so I can't get anymore. (Idea's anyone).

As said my team covered the cap in the last minute of the game. What can you do! I had a brill day, got really drunk, and never had a bet. But god did I think about it. But reading the storys on here, I now know that's what the way its going to be. And I can get my head around it a little better. And I also notice how much gamling is in my life. The old fella sat next to me had £3000 on the game. And at half time, with the game still open, he was s*****g him self. I want to say I enjoyed the game better without having a bet. But I can't just yet. But I know that one day I will. Happy days.

Work was dead, and hangover made me feel very bored yesterday. Never really had a thought about betting, but did smile when I heard a result. A fav football team got turned over and I know I would of gone heavy if I was a betting man. Looked in on the chat room at night while I had an hour and enjoyed a talking to the peeps in there. Heres to another day. Payday tomorrow.

Had a rubbish day yesterday, checked my payday load and seen I owed £20 more then I thought. So once again, its pay day and once I pay my housekeeping and loan, I am in the red. But I know that if I can go 31 days, with no betting, thus giving me no loans. I get next to sept 27nd and have something to show for working 40 hours a week. And its funny because I don't want to bet, I really don't, but my brain seems to be thinking of nothing else. Even more then if I had had a go, and would be thinking of the result and my returns. Anyway, count down clock. 31 days to go....

Glad to see you've started a diary, Gaz. It get's much easier with all this as the days pass, but you'll be tested every so often too. So exercise caution. Be aware of urges when they come, but try to think rationally and you'll overcome them. Most gamblers are irrational when you give it some thought. You talked of an old guy having a 3k bet. To your average fellow in the street, that's bonkers. Not surprised he was almost crapping his pants. 🙂

You've made the right decision coming on here, chap. Chuffed for you. Have a good week.

-Alex

Been with my gf all day today so not had any thoughts of having a bet. Today is an easy day. Been asked to go drinking and watch the scores come in on sat, and I am going to go just because I don't want not gambling to stop me doing the things I like. I understand it will be hard. I have also closed my fav payload companys account. Not as easy as you would think. 30 days till payday. And close to a week without a bet. But I have been longer then this before. So still going to keep remembering that sick feeling you get, when you lose. Also, thankyou alex.

I don't have very good writing skills, so its hard to write what I am feeling on here. But just reading some of the long term stories on here are very good at making me think about what gambling really is. I mean you can't really ever win. Unless your first bet is a winner, and you never bet again. I understand you can gamble for fun, just like I like a drink, but never feel the need to get P***** everyday. I had ideas of having a little bet for the weekend yesterday. I just keep trying to remember the sick feeling I get when I lose. If I repeat myself, I am sorry. I just like the idea of writing on here everyday, for focus, or something like that.

You're doing it right. Keep coming here, reading and posting and don't worry about what you write or repetition. Someone once wrote on my diary something to the effect of "if we could only bottle the nasty feelings after gambling and take a sniff at every urge" we'd have this kicked. I find reading the diaries a bit like that. Maintain that resolve!

Drink and drugs are bad for your body, we all know that. Were as I belived gambling was all just mental and stressfull. I have now gone 9 days withday a bet, and thought about nothing else. But for the last two days, I have felt rubbish. Sore belly, bad head and just tried all the time. Could I just be poorly, a bug or something, or is the stress of not betting making me feel ill?????
