Day 98

14 weeks. Payday Wednesday, need to be strong as the target will not count unless I do the full day. Not sure if I will be mean with spending and save lots this month or get all the christmas shopping out the way. Still not thought of a reward. Not going to be anything big as I have bought myself a few treats too many since I stopped gambling. House full of c**P I dont really need but at least I have something to show for my wages and its not in the bookmakers pockets.

Many thanks Suzanne. Appreciate your positive posts.

Day 99

Doing well at saving money the last few days. Making own meals and planning ahead. Not making any impulse spendings. I have had the same £5 note in my pocket for a whole week.

Day 100

Triple figures 🙂

I am having stupid complacent thoughts but I need to keep going. Also, I am not certain 100 days is my personal best. Next target is getting to Christmas Day gamble free. Should be enough to reach a personal best.

Cheers guys, many thanks. Doubt I would have done it without the useful advice I get in Chat.

Day 101

I went swimming again. I didnt drown but I have realised I am very unfit. Good in a way, I am encouraged to go back and get fitter.

Should keep my out the local bookmakers.

Day 103

Really really wanted to have a bet today. I even waited in the bookmakers just before the big race and I had a wad of cash to have a bet with. However, spotted a couple of outsiders had won earlier and I spotted a horse nearly fall when cruising and I remembered it a mugs game and I am a stupid compulsive mug. Also, I felt guilty for walking in as I have been doing well recently. I left the bookmakers, I never watched the race, I tried to avoid finding out the result as I thought my selection would win but later I found out my selection was out of the places. No doubt I would be out of money or still chasing if I had struck that bet.

I had spent the day shopping in town but I never bought anything. I dont have anything I particularly want and I thought its my money what harm would it do. Stupid.

Shifted my money towards CCs and some debts. No money again. Bliss. 🙂

No chance. I would not have left the bookies. I would have spent my whole week off in the bookmakers which is one of the reasons I started this Recovery Diary. I might have left at the end of the day with more money, so I would be back at square one, wondering what to do with my leftover money. I need to reduce my debts to 0 even if they are manageable at this time. Resulting in a better credit rating and eventually a mortgage or more likely a nice car.

I have some time off work. I will spend it playing video games and going to the gym or swimming. I will do my xmas shopping next month. Hopefully I can spend next to nothing this month.

Day 106

I have been going to the gym during my days off. I would be very surprised if this becomes a hobby. Enjoying seeing my weight go down though. I have not considered going to the boomakers partly because I have little cash as I shifted my money towards some debts.

Well done D, on passing the 100 mark, it is a lovely milestone to reach.

Keep strong, positive and stay focused, and keep winning.

Day 107

Just bought a drill and accessories set that I used to own. I pawned the drill and failed to buy it back again after a losing run while gambling. Although I really liked the drill I never used it much. I still feel good that I own it again. Feels like I am making some progress.

Could easily be talking about my own iphone. A few near misses.

I am sure you and an iPhone 6 will be united again soon. Stay focused.

Day 109

Just back from a pub/bookmakers. The reason I write pub/bookmakers is the pub had football coupons, betting slips, a RacingPost (all at the bar), fruit machines, and Racing TV showing on the big screen. Breaking the triangle works. If I had more cash available I guarantee I would be betting on the horses. Only had enough for a few drinks and some pool. Lucky.
