Two weeks without gambling and all is good. I have no desire or urge to gamble.

Still get frustrated when I sit down to watch a football match on TV and the ad breaks are saturated with gambling advertisements. I know I cannot avoid this, and I know that it is not worth getting wound up about. It just irratates the f**k out of me, knowing what gambling can do to some people.

The gambling marketing teams that produce these advertisements for TV make me sick.

Rant over.

Keep strong all

We sure are NT. Thanks for the post.

Another day without gambling comes to an end.

Hospital visit today to see chest doctor went well. My pleuritic pain is easing at last thanks to painkillers and relieved that the chest pains are not related to my cardiac problems.

Your health is your wealth after all.....

My two little golfballs are keeping me busy as usual. They are my world, they deserve a Dad free from addiction.

Keeping strong

Ade

Thanks for the post Michael.

Day 15. Just back from second acupuncture session on my chest pain and feeling great. Should be back to work tomorrow, and am mindful that I will need to maintain my strength especially at lunchtimes. This was one of my 'mini-escape' times to gamble.

I have recently read Kevin Bridges autobiography, which was a great read. In it, he tells how reading Frank Skinners autobiography helped change his life and directed him to a career in comedy. He also tells how he would often find himself in a bookies quite a lot, losing all his money when he was a teenager. I am now on to Frank Skinners autobiography, which has had me laughing out loud a few times! I find that reading books helps me, and occupies my time. It is a good thing for me to do. Especially funny books, as they get me laughing and remembering how little I laughed and smiled when I gambled. And how moody I had become.

Bit of a ramble, but I know that I am putting down some solid foundations to think logically should a gambling urge come my way....

I am now 15 days into recovery and still have the same determination as I had on Day 1.

Onwards and upwards

Keep strong all.

Thanks for the supportive posts Michael and Sandra.

Busy day back at work today, took daughter to swimming club, popped into Homebase for some diy bits, went to my first ever Neighbourhood watch meeting, and back home for a rest.

16 days since my last bet.

Feeling stronger than ever.

Well done Ade, I don't know how I worked life when I gambled as I find I have so little time to spare now. Another day down in the pressure cooker that is my head. See you at the end of tomorrow another day free.
