Thanks Duncs,

A great day is being had by all the golf balls in my house today. No urge to dip my toe in the choppy Boxing day Sports fest of gambling nonsense and mayhem tomorrow......

Time for another beer and some more games with the golf balls....

Keep strong all

Ade

Day 31. Toughest day yet, but navigated safely all the same. Few stomach churning urges around midday, but my strength won the day.

Onwards and upwards

Hello Ade, I've just read your post from the 22nd; gosh, that rang a few bells and struck a few chords. Nicely written. Made me stop for breath.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks Michael, Suzanne and Milkman for your supportive posts.

32 days without gambling now. Went to visit my Mum today for lunch in North London. She lives just off a busy High Street, and I popped out to the grocers for a few bits. I had to walk about 200 metres to get to the shop. In this distance I passed 6 bookmakers. 3 were the same company! Each shop was doing a roaring trade as I glanced in.....It really f*cks me off that this is allowed. On one parade of shops, there was a bookies on both ends, and a double-fronted one in the middle of the parade. It's not the nicest part of North London, but it is obviously a main marketing target for the Mega-rich bookmakers, who prey on these parts of cities, where they know they will attract vulnerable people who will become addicts.....eventually. Saturaration like this just shouldn't be allowed.

Keep strong all

Ade

Thanks for the support Suzanne and NT,

34th day and still going strong.

Nothing much to report, but logging on each day as this is what I do to maintain my recovery.

Feeling proud that I am in a much better state of mind now, and that my self-worth is slowly returning day by day....

Keep strong all

35 days without betting. 5 weeks without entering a bookies. However I say it, it sounds good.

In fact, I haven't felt this good for years.

Stay strong all, the battle is definately worth fighting......
