Home from work. Still sticking to my guns. Happy days
Seem to have dropped off the radar a bit in the last week but this time it's not for a bad reason. Still doing well although had a few thoughts not gambled 🙂
Hi Dimmer,
Thank you for sharing your experience on here and well done for making it this far.
A couple of years ago my Gran passed away and she left me some money. I ended up wasting it gambling and I felt as low as you can imagine.
There's no point in wasting time and energy on regret. There's a phrase I read somewhere, that goes something like;
"There are two days on which you cannot do anything; yesterday and tomorrow."
As addicts we can slip into the cycle of thought where we dwell on past losses and dream of future wins. We have to focus on today; making it through one more day without giving these companies our money, dignity and sanity.
What has worked for me is finding a hobby or project and throwing myself into it. Also, being able to talk openly and honestly with certain people helps. If there is someone out there who you trust and feel comfortable talking to about it, I would suggest it as a possible course of action. Sometimes just talking about a problem can make it seem less, well... horrible I suppose.
Stay strong.
