Day 45 and still going strong. Drawing strength from visiting other diaries and reading other people's journeys & how they are coping without gambling in their lives. Some are a real inspiration and others just show how hard the battle can be. One thing I'm sure of is that we all want gambling out of our lives or we wouldn't be posting and reading on the site. I wish each and everyone of you the strength, self control and will power to beat your personal demons In which ever way you decide. My name is Newey and no FOBT's have been allowed in my life again today.

WOW 10 years eh...Just goes to show, it never goes away 🙁 I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your loved ones & hopefully this is getting less painful as time goes on! I'm not sure I ever really gambled to escape but I always wanted to whether I was happy or sad...Yesterday I cleaned out papers dating back 5 years, in them many reminders of my 3 recent losses & now I think about it, no urges whatsoever! I may not have gotten them anyway but I wouldn't have been sorting through them if I weren't in recovery, I would have been hard @ work trying to make my millions in a £500 FOBT?!? What on earth were we thinking 🙁
Still, that's our past & as you quite rightly point out, I have housework to be getting on with now 😉 I imagine there's some mundane task or 7 in your world that has your name on it so let's keep pushing forwards & enjoying our new found freedom - ODAAT
Way to go on day 56 of odaat newy! I have not read your posts so I have to do so to see a little about you. I am early in my new recovery so I'm just getting the hang of digging in again. T2
P.s. I just went back a did read your earlier posts. I feel your strength and commitment and also understand the trigger. Sharing helps us all. I know that one time I was a year gamble free on my own without help of recovery and then there was a big trigger that came up and it sent me right out. I gambled hard for on and off for a year and 1/2 before I then sought out help. It's been a long 10 years for me. And here I am with about 1 week gf. T2

Day 63. Had a really busy few days and go on holiday in a few days time 🙂 next time I post I'll be on day 76. Just packed the case and not forgotten the sun tan lotion as it will be near 30 degrees. you may note I'm rubbing it in a bit here (excuse the pun).
