Hi allyc1981 - Well done on accepting that you have to give it up and for joining this site where you'll find loads of support and encouragement. One day at a time, and you will soon see the days mount up.

Have you put in place barriers to your gambling? Self-exclusion is a must, as is intalling blocking software such as K9 (free). These barriers give you breathing space so that you can concentrate on your recovery.

You can do it!

Best wishes,

Joanna

Hi allyc

Welcome aboard this great site and as Joanna says you will find loads of support and encouragement on here

And I say the same well done on accepting you have to give it up that is a very good start and I know it's hard to face up to the facts that you just cannot do it anymore

Please use the triangle (that is a saying used a lot on here) and I find it necessary for me to continue to abstain

The triangle is time location and money if you just take one of these out the day it makes it impossible to play

Take one day at a time and remember you can't win because you can't stop if you play. But you win today if you don't play

Keep strong and determined and you will ride the storms one day at a time

Best wishes Suzanne x

Thanks very much folks for the above comments of support it's mostly appreciated. Every days a stepping stone an every day gamble free is a day closer too being finally free. We all have different stories about how we have ended here but the main point is we all have gambling problems. I can't believe how it can get a hold of you an how it starts too control your life an nothing else matters in your life. Day 1 nearly over feeling good an no real urges

Day 2 nearly over, no real urges. When I stop gambling I realise how much a fool I have been. It's always that one bet that sets us off again. We are compulsive gamblers an don't don't know when too stop that's why we are here an it's vital we never go back. We will never be able too control it an if we did we would always be one bet away from destruction. Stay strong everyone an post regularly as I hope too. Thinking positive for day 3 🙂

Day 4 nearly over still gamble free. Feeling good an focused an motivated. Been here before thou it's a hard struggle but this time I want too make it for good. Every day I need too explain too myself I have a gambling problem a that it's wrong. Not like before I stay gamble free for 3 months an then think I can control it. I wouldn't be back here if I could. My aim now is too save as much as I can an have something too show for my money, some nice holidays as well. The more days I stay gamble free an feel so much better about life an myself I hate myself for what I had become. Lie too family an friends too cover loses. No more lying an bidding time too face my demons too be gamble free. Here's too a gamble free day 5 🙂
