Morning Blondie.

Many thanks for your post.

Every day away from gambling is a huge plus.

We must all be strong.

Life really is better without a bet.

Best wishes,

gazza

thanks Blondie

I am still reading and posting hun,..tend to post more on my own diary as overspill nowadays when i read something on anothers thread that inspires me...so i don't hog their page...lol

Im not "cured" or anything ....but the lesson I have learned in all this is self care and protection as number one and most importantly knowing my limitations as a person....not setting myself up for stuff that is beyond my capabilities but even if I do..making sure I keep a healthy distance or get out asap.

keep watching the skies....lol

I am still reading and made up that you are doing so well hun....well done too for negotiating your disagreement with your BF in a different way....choosing differently how to respond and not knee jerking is very hard ....grace under fire xxx

The day that you have just described is the kind of day that all of us on here can have when this gambling habit is kicked into oblivion.

Thanks for reminding us, it is important for us all to remember what those days are like.

By not gambling, there will be plenty more of those days to come!

Blondie,

Thanks for the continued kind and encouraging words, means a lot.

Not being a smoker am not in any position to offer advice other than you are a steely willed woman and you can beat it" one day at a time!"

hope you have had a great day

Stay strong

Steve

Hi Blonde one!

Awsome post you put on my diary....really gave me food for thought.

Yep girl...time we put ourselfs at the top of the list sometimes eh?

Never realised how much I had neglected myself.......Arranging my glasses, teeth would of most certainly not come into it when I was gambling.

Confidence coming back........Life is what we make it........I intend to make it good!

Hope the non smoking is still going well?

Hugs my friend....Sue xxxx

Day 114,

So nearly the end of day 2 with the No smokeing, Im trying to use the same mentality that I use to remain gamble free, but s**t this feels so much harder. I have been in a pretty sh*tty mood all day nicotine withdrawels, so i have some nicotine gum and my sky cig which is helping me a little. So just for today I will stay mentally strong even though i feel pretty weak and see how far I can take this.

Its my last week in work this week then im off for 2 weeks, been trying to sort out our first week away but its proving to be a bit of a nightmare so I have left it to my BF to do, I tend to go into trying to please everyone mode and bearating myself when i cant. Something I have to keep working on, some days i just feel like saying f*** it.. you do it, so today was that day lol.

No gambling thoughts apart from a fleeting one when i opened my wage slip before, i have been paid my pay rise back pay so have a fair chunk of money that i hadnt expected up untill back end of last month. It just goes to show this addiction is always there lurking in the background waiting for a weak moment to strike.

Well that money will be staying firmly in my bank account so demons today I win and I have done for the past 114 days.

Wow Blondie, never knew you were packing in the tabs. This of course is going to be testing, both mentally and physically but if anyone can do it you can. It's funny how when you achieve one goal it gives you the freedom and confidence to tackle others. You're doing great, if you can get through the first three months then you should be ok. Good luck, use the barrier method, gum, patches, fake ciggies, exclude yourself from tobbaccoists etc. enjoy your hols, Steve.

Yo

That made me chuckle.

Self exclude from tobacconists . See you know sitting in a photo booth , bag full of pound coins , checking your hair is just right , 100 photos please .

Good on you , I tried I failed m did the patchesc, had hypnotherapy , found it brought my other addictions to the for front .

But that's me , Tomso , Duncs plenty others have given up. Proving its possible , I think I would need to get rid of the oh , to even stand a chance .

So go on my lovely , go for it and be a better man than me gunga din . Lol

Shiny xxxxxxxxxxxx

Ps 2 weeks away you lucky B*****r .

Enjoy xxxx

Hey,

Hmm your Question has posed quite a dilemma!! Flagg is unsure what to do on this one! I think I can prob allow it on this occasion but you must check in as soon as you get back like as the wheels of the plane touch the runway!

Lol, obviously I'm kidding 🙂 you make sure you have a brilliant 2 weeks my friend, just check in when you get back! mayb this holiday will fit in perfectly with the no smoking too! Until then if you are desperately struggling mayb try breaking it down into even smaller chunks and say just for the next 3 hours I won't smoke!

As for the numbers mayb after your next target just do a weekly count? Duncs does that and it means you still have a figure in mind and I'll still be happy too 🙂

Have a good smoke free day!

Flagg
