Quick update from me. It was almost exactly one year ago that I started this diary.
Currently I have been gamble free since May 2019. I lost a total amount of close to 1000 Euro in 2019 (so far), which is bad, but it's a big improvement compared to the five figures that I lost each year between 2016 - 2018.
Overall my life has improved in the last twelve months. I've been on a real vacation abroad for the first time in four years. Was able to buy a new car. My depression has gotten better. I have some goals in life again (didn't had any goals two years ago, was just trying to get through each day.) I recently got a pay raise. My bank account is slowly increasing. On the other hand I'm still struggling to live a socially active life and this is something that I would like to change.
I still frequent the gamcare forum to read about other people's stories, it helps me a lot in my own recovery.
