Glad you're doing so well GR4Y. Keep on going my friend. As soon as I'll get my energy back I'm joining a gym as well as exercise tends to keep depression at bay.

Hi GR4Y

Just keep doing what you are doing and post if you feel good, bad or indifferent! Gym is a great way of doing something different. Apparently can be quite addictive which is not such a bad thing.

Take care

Afternoon everyone

Just took a phone call from my mother telling me that my aunt has been told she only have mouths left in her battle against c##cer!! My mum asked me for a loan when the time comes to help with the funeral cost.

Feeling quite low as all that money I lost through the FOBTs could have gone on giving a family member a good send off 🙁

Just makes me realise how short life can be and to live it as happy as you can.

I'm gonna try to remember and respect my aunt by not gambling.

Luckily I manage to sort out a loan to pay some of the costs.

Hi Gr4y,

Sorry to hear about your aunt, but whatever you do, don't start to project some guilt on to yourself for past mistakes. They're gone now. Don't look back. I know it's a cliché, but I believe it genuinely helps if you move forward. You've been dealt another blow with this news, but stay strong! It will be worth it in the long run.

So true what you said I know I should keep looking forward but sometimes it's hard to forget the past. But I'm gonna try to keep looking forward and not back.

Living on pennies as lost this month wages two weeks ago 🙁

As I was told by someone on here just gonna take it day by day.

Well done for your continued abstinence.

Life will with out doubt improve, remember the next two weeks getting by on the scraps your gambling left you to live on.

It will gift your resolve a huge amount when you do have funds again.

Dear diary

Today will be 13 days GF and what a rollercoaster it's been had my ups and also my downs.

I know today has just started but I'm counting today as a GF day as my attitude towards g##bling as change ( want it absent from my life) so I know I won't do it.

Crazy how my life as change by me not g##bling ie I'm more happy, my relationship as improved a lot And my attitude towards money ( learnt to respect it).

Went to visit my aunt over the weekend we had a good heart to heart. She told me how she was doing and I told her about my problem. She said something to me that will stay with me through my recovery 🙂

Anyhow best go get ready for work.

Hey Gray,

Well done on spending your time and money on things that are much more valuable and rewarding than gambling, and while it can be a rollercoaster, quitting gambling is a rollercoaster that is generally going upwards towards a better future.

I think joining the gym will prove to be a good idea too, not only will it give you something to do but the physical exercise is likely to improve your sleep too, as you'll be more tired going to bed.

All the best mate,

Ryan

Thanks lost and Ryan for your kind words

Dear diary

15 days ago I was heading for rock bottom!!

Funny how when you admit to a problem things change completely! ( for the good of course)

Life is happy now seeing things more clearly then I ever did. The last two days have flown past.

RYAN you was so right going gym does help me have a better night sleep.

Got another GA meeting this week.

Would like to thanks everyone for their support and tips 🙂

I was dreading payday next week ( G##BLING it all)

But I'm not now as I'm confidant that I won't be setting foot into a bookies anymore.

Hope you all well on your recovery!!!!

All the best

GR4Y 15 days happier 🙂

Dear diary

I'm still going GF 20 days now 🙂

Yesterday was one of them fell low days but today I felt good.

Just trying to keep myself busy busy busy think that's what helping me so far

A old friend rang me yesterday with a tip for the horses ( I never laid the bet out) it came in but I didn't feel angry by not backing it. I know I would've felt angry if I did as all the hard work I done so far would've been for nothing.

Proud of myself for thinking like that and so was my partner 🙂

All the best
