I am guessing that you must have tried the one where you'd throw the slip away before a race and then stand on it during a race then!
Weldy
Never really into the nags Weldy but I have screwed up many slips thrown them across the room mid bet... in the hope there would be a twist of fate. It never once happened.
Target 10
Finish the front garden. Involves doing some more weeding and then getting some soil / compost and getting it level so then can sow some lawn seed. Will then need a water at some point. Also hoping to make a start at tidying the back garden and want to do a trip to the tip to get rid of rubbish from the garage... bits of rotten wood and old carpet.
Story 10
Not sure if there is much of a tale to this one as it is more an example of irrational behaviour and total lack of regard for hard earned cash.
I'd done a load of cash in over a weekend and with Sunday night approaching I needed it back so I was on tilt for a bet. Only thing on was a random golf tourny I knew nothing about.
I put a wedge on the leader at 6/4... think it was Rickie Fowler. He proceeded to absolutely nose dive so I poured even more on to the new leader who then proceeded to nose dive. I was steaming mad.
I spent the whole night sleepless thinking of how much cash I had done in but I was also sleepless thinking about my next big bet. What it would be? How much I could win back? Just stupid behaviour. My only thoughts were really about getting back to even as soon as possible.
I'm sorry as I can't really find a way to turn this one into a positive lesson learnt except that compulsive gamblers keep gambling on anything and the more on tilt I became the more irrational my bets.
Any compulsive gambler who thinks they can control it is totally wrong.
Spent £22 on 250 litres of top soil. Broke my heart but I thought if easily spend ten times that at bookies so I need to just do it. Got the weeds out and it's level with the soil. Will sow seeds tomorrow. Also went to the tip with the items I should have taken months ago if I wasn't busy gambling instead.
Pulled up overgrown plants in back garden with the last 30 mins I had spare.
Todays target met.
Well done change, it is hard to change so many small things in a CGs life, but you are doing it, be proud of your changes however big or small, it really is worth it, to get your life back.

Thanks Suzanne... the little and relatively cheap things are all I can do at the moment but they are making a big difference. The apathy of a compulsive gambler had let so many things drift... from my own health, to my relationships to my house and belongings. Real shame but I'm not down on it as got to get up and correct all the mess. Onwards and upwards... can tick off 9 o'clock box now haha!
Target 11
I am going to write out my family tree today. I did this once before on ancestry com and it got way to addictive for me. I spent literally every waking minute researching and asking all my family questions to get hints. I was searching war records and ordering copies of documents. I had to stop as it was getting too much.
Hello Change, how are you getting on mate? Still researching the family tree?
Well done change just read ur journal very positive

Hi Not Again... yes still researching family tree. Still gamble free as well. Just busy with other things and not been able to get on forum much.
Adam - thanks for your comment. I need to start posting again once things calm down for me.
Hi changes. Keep up the good work. Great to see you hitting your targets. I bought some top soil at the start of spring also and though only small coin it hurt me as I wanted that money to gamble with. One thing about being an x gamble we are very good with surviving on very little cash. You are improving the situation for sure. I have £10 this weekend until payday next week and it's fence paint for me! Before it would have been on nothing As the bookie would have this plus all my other spare cash. this time the t**t ain't getting a penny! The worms will appreciate your purchase instead 😉
