Day 52,

I've just realised that I wrote on other peoples diaries yesterday but forgot to update my own! I must be ready for Christmas! Ha ha.

All good this end. No thoughts of gambling but my guard is well and truly up.

Best wishes all.

Day 56,

I am finding that I have less time to write on my diary the closer we get to Christmas.

No thoughts of gambling but feeling a bit low to be honest. Trying to shake it and be upbeat but I could happily curl up in a corner somewhere. I scratched all down the side of my car yesterday. Luckily no other car involved just a wall. Big scratches along two panels. No idea yet how much it is going to cost yet but could really do without the added expense right now.

I hope that everyone had a good day yesterday. We had a lovely family day. 🙂 I must admit I do love boxing day. My daughter is desparate for it to snow!

Best wishes to all.

Day 68,

I hope that everyone is well. During the build up to Christmas saving £1 a day for each of my children worked really well and helped me to keep my focus.

The new year brings a new focus. In 3 years time we have planned to take the children to Lapland for Christmas so I have set up an account to pay in £18.75 a week (£75 a month) for the next 3 years which will go a long way to help pay for the trip.

Best wishes all.

Day 2,

My absence from this site has meant a very painful and expensive month. It was all going so well until I began spending less and less time on my recovery. During the past month I am ashamed to say that gambling has once again taken over my life. It was starting to affect my health. I wasn't eating properly and was losing weight. It came to a head a couple of days ago. I was looking dreadful and my wife just came out with it and asked if I was gambling again. I confessed all straight away. It was a relief to be honest. So I start the fight again. I will write more later.

Best wishes to all.

Day 4,

My wife has been amazing. She is obviously hurt, angry and upset at what I have done - again. I accept that with two young children I can no longer afford to do this anymore - either financially or emotionally with my time. My debts had reached £15,000. Not all gambling but that had certainly contributed a substantial amount of it. I know that I am really lucky to have such an amazing wife. She has paid off all of my debts and I am eating and sleeping properly again. Onwards and upwards.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Best wishes to all.

Dave

Day 7,

I feel better to have my first week under my belt in my latest attempt at recovery. Life and family life in particular is really good at the moment and I fully intend for it to stay that way.

Best wishes to all.
