So, after a few days of deliberation I finally opened up to my parents about my problem.

They are fantastic people and listened to everything I had to say. They where disappointed of course, angry and frustrated. But, they love me and i love them, very much.

I feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders. It’s 29 days since I last gambled and I can honestly say I never will again.

All the best

Andy

Great. That really is the best thing you could have done. You may not yet know how vital a step that was...so important.

You will feel a real pride from showing that you are taking recovery seriously

The next stage is to build on that by talking about it again. It needs the basic blocks to cash which dont have to be a pain if you all set it up right. Funs can quickly and easily be transferred from a safe account You then  also discuss any vunerabilities or trigger points.

For example a stressful job ending up at a motorway service station or really bad news would be two of mine.

Its a reality check you needed. I hope you are now moving forward and building on that as your mind heals

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
