I also have great admiration and respect for those who push through the pain barrier of cold turkey and who dare to come out of the shadows of addiction and begin to live again often with no roadmap as this is where trust comes in. I acknowledge how much courage that takes as recovery will always involve further loss, usually of ego and the ability to kid ourselves but for a gain and a richness of life that words are inadequate to express, it has to be felt.

For my own progress I also had to lose my daily diary as it was keeping me stuck in the past and I was turning back in on myself destructively.With the help of GC I was able to go cold turkey and I asked for my threads to be erased. As a person , my modis operandi has always been growth which often does not always bring happiness but it does I'm told, build character.! I'm blogging on another channel now to do with all things external environment where scientific debate takes the personal out of it yet it still remains humanitarian,

In the absence of a fixed religion I am not ashamed to say I need structure whether that be meetings or some form of group forum as it acts as therapy if only to keep the bigger picture in mind.

Thank you good GC people for letting me be part of your lives and for sharing my internal ramblings....As they say in my 12 step..."Keep giving it away to keep it" ..which I interpret as meaning..keep talking! ..it's a positive reinforcement that reminds you how far you have come from where we were and forces us to not isolate. I would also add loneliness to the triangle of Time, Money and Location,Addictions thrive on loneliness and seduce us into thinking they are our only friend.

Hi Rach... and glad to read that you have found a new home to blog and to give you structure and therapy. I am sorry to see you go as I learnt a lot through your thoughts but I can understand that the time was right for you to move on to pastures new.

As for me, well am staying put, this place works for me so I keep using it.
