Hiya im on day 3 gamble free now, the most i've been in ages but only because of a big loss. I am feeling urges really bad right now but I must fight this urge, because I know if I win, i'll carry on, and also if I lose, i'll carry on. It's a lose lose situation.

Anyone else addicted to the roullette? Makes my heart race like never before

Hi Zlime,

Welcome to the forum - my downfall was slots but i did play roulette in casinos and it all gave me the flutter in the heart that you mentioned above. Stay strong and dont give into the urges...as CW posted you need to break the triangle, take away time, money or location and you cant gamble. We have all tried willpower alone but from reading diaries on this site most of us need these barriers also.

Good luck on your journey, really commit to not gambling and get that triangle well and truly broken!

Hey thanks you... I have just been really busy thats the main thing and ever since my last loss I still have that in my mind and it was a really bad feeling. Im on day 4 now and feeling quite positive, obviously want to play on the roullette right now but I don't want to get hooked into it again, because I felt much worse playing it daily [even winning] than I do now.

Roulette = evil.. Roulette is my down fall.. If I win I still lose because I ended up playing it again and end up losing the money I won and money in my bank account.. I have removed myself from my bank card and have downloaded K9 on my fone.. My next step is to self exclude from betting shops and casino's!

I really want to beat this addiction.. Roulette has really wasted my life, time and money!! Good luck with your recovery!!

Roulette caused me a lot of issues as well, the excitement of hitting a number, chasing streaks etc. So hard to quit but as YoYoCasey86 said, it's a waste of life, time and money! Make sure you keep yourself busy and best of luck!

Hi Zlime

I warn you now this isn't going to a nice cuddly post.

I have read all your diaries and I have counted 7 "slips" in 19 days!!!

Something is going seriously wrong you need to work out what it is but I can tell you now will power alone want do it

Youre only 20 years old, you have time on your side. It loose like you have spotted you gave problem early in life. You just have to want to stop more than you want to bet.

Have a look at the below questions and honestly tell me are you are trying hard enough to stop?

1. Have you admitted and accepted you are a CG?

2. Do you want to stop betting on roulette or stop losing on it?

3. Have you told any family or close friends?

4. Have you called and spoke to Gamcare?

5. Have you considered asking Gamcare for counselling?

6. Have you handed over financial control to someone you can trust?

7. Have you closed and self excluded from all the betting sites you have accounts with?

8. Have you got blocking software and put parental controls on your BB provider some phone providers also do this? (Make sure you get someone else to set the passwords)

9. Have you self excluded from all bookies in your area? You can call 0800 294 2060

10. Have you looked for external help like GA?

You've found a great site here that can give you some great support and advise use it before you waste 25 years of your life gambling like me.

Hi Zlime , some great advice from Oldham there my friend and I can only mirror what youv'e already been told , your'e willpower will grow but at the moment you can't rely on it alone to see you through the difficult early stages of breaking the cycle of gambling .

It's not going to stop until you stop , simple as that ! , you have to put as much in between you and being able to gamble as you can , I'ts not rocket science but if you leave doors wide open gamblings going to walk right back in , so close the doors , leave nothing open and take the gamble free life you say you want ! .

Best wishes !

If you don't do what it takes to stop you from gambling, who will?

Follow Martin's advice.

Thanks guys I'm trying to take all this advice on but it's really hard for me and I don't know why. I have anxiety and the thought of reaching out to anyone really gets me anxious.

Not bad Oldham, not had a bet today even though I've felt like signing up to a new casino site just to have a go on the roulette, even though it never ends well. How are you?

Hi Zlime , sometimes all this information and advice gets a bit overwhelming and you just have to do the basics to make yourself safe and by that I mean get your blocks in place so you can't do yourself any more damage .

I was like you when I came here 7 month ago and like you my downfall was roulette in the casinos but mainly on the Fobt's in the bookies , I've lost several thousand on them in quite a short space of time and totally understand how addictive they are .

So first priority , get a blocking softawre installed , k9s free but theres others at a cost , its not going to happen on its own and it won't stop , until you do something about it ! .

If I can come on here and stop for 7 months , then so can you , I know its a scary thought and thats why you do it one day at a time in little steps , let your losses go accept there not coming back and move on , take it from me it feels great !!.

Take care my friend

I feeling good thanks not gambled foe 203 days life is so much better. I've only managed that by taking the advice I havd been given and making changes. It's been hard I've not wanted to put all the things in place that I have. It took away some of my dignity but I soon got over that when things started to change in my life. Have I got everything I want? No but I have got my self respect back.

Well done on getting through today lets beat this and start to thrive rather than just survive.
