Day 20 and the back is a little less tender today. I'm trying my best at the moment to avoid all news of Cheltenham horses and winners, I don't want to hear about it. It used to be the time of year I looked forward to most and it has caused me to slip in the past. I can't slip up as I don't want to be that person anymore, I don't want anymore pain or destruction.
So I have to stay positive and keep fighting hard, no bets today!
Just a quick post, had some fab news, after a few near misses in the job hunt I have just found out I was successful in an interview I attended last week and they want me to start on Monday. Things are looking up! Makes me ever more motivated not to bet this week.
Congratulations! That is great news mate, well done. New positive beginnings!
I read a book recently, it is called the easy way to stop gambling by Allen Carr. It helped me understand a little more the mindset of us gamblers. You mention will power and a lack of. After reading the book it showed me us gamblers do not suffer with a lack of will power it is actually the complete opposite. We have so much will power we continue to do something we know harms us and something we can never win at. I fully reccomend the book, it may help you too.
You da man BA! Great news on the job. Something to really get your teeth stuck into I hope? All the best, whatami.
Congratulations Phil! What a wonderful opportunity for a fresh start. A change is as good as a holiday as they say. A chance to meet new people and none of the disappointing mental associations with the old workplace. Good luck, old fellow!
Thanks for the kind posts on my diary, I went out yesterday for a few drinks to celebrate, Its now day 22 and I need to remain focussed on taking things one day at a time. My life can be so much better just as long as I make the right choices.
Its my GA meeting tonight and I'm looking forwards to it. It will be the first time I have been to GA three weeks running and I intend to continue.
Keep going mate. Hope the meeting goes well.
Soon be a month gamble free, a nice little milestone.
Hi Phil! Hope your GA meeting on Thursday was productive? Guess you are gearing up to start the new job tomorrow? Hope it all goes swimmingly.
