Hi wp

Like you say what sort of chance do we have when a horse gets beat at 1/14 .Of course there will be some sort of excuse for that loss from the trainer, and the excuse will be accepted. When you get a horse like that at a short price it could be lame, it could be ill ,it could falol ,slip up, get disqualified,The jockey may have had a night out on the beer or it could just be the plain old simple fiddle. Really what chance do we have. Well done on your continuing abstainance.Jeff.

Well done. As long as we are not gambling it must get easier, how long that will take is not so important,as long as we are not gambling we are winning.

Congrats

Cheers for the post wp.

You are spot on mate. Duncan Ferguson is my all time Everton hero. He was an incredible talent when he first joined us but unfortunately he didn't really fulfill his potential due to a series of injuries and off field misdemeanours. On his day he was unplayable though and those days were often against Liverpool! A true legend in a dark era for the club.

10 weeks wp and you are making every day look easy. Long may it continue.

Hi wp,

I've just read through your posts. You should be really proud mate, your doing so well. 10 weeks!!!

Just remember, you can't please everyone (ex's inc), but you can be comfortable in your own skin, and you sound like your getting back on your feet, confidence wise so keep it going!!

Isn't it funny how we all like ourselves a bit more when we are gamble free.

Stay Strong

Steve

wp, well done for achieving 10 weeks gambling free. Nearly at 3 months, and when you're there then 6 months won't seem so far away.

It is hard, when gambling has been a part of your life for so long to see that things could be different. The money side of it can be depressing, I know that but just take a look around you at how things have started to slowly improve for you since you have not been betting. The compulsion rules your mind - imagine the hours you used to waste looking at forms, studying profiles and working out how and what to bet on - completely a waste of time I think you'll agree. You probably have more time for your family and friends and I bet they have commented that you look and seem better when you're not gambling.

Really glad you're working at it and from what I have read you are certainly having the right kind of mindset to keep going - you show some good strength, you've admitted to yourself you are not in control and you know you can't go back there. These facts will keep you on the right road I'm sure of it.

Best of luck to you - Matt

Went round 1st thing to ex s to walk dogs (sometimes we can get on) but it went all frosty again. .i sometimes think why do i bother but im hanging in there for bairns sake. . Anyways good news. A cheque has cleared after my injury at work.in the past if i had spare cash you ve guessed where it would go. Not this time. . time to spend it. .NO chance. . it will get my debts doon a wee bit though not that much but its a big bonus . . Today i wont bet have a nice day folks. .

Time, money and boredem= very dangerous to us compulsive gamblers! But we now know that! We did back in the crazy days, but we didnt really care did we? or we did and we just could not control our actions! Have a great day mate, 70 days is a great achievment,we are similar lenghths away from our last gamble, but our next one could be only minutes away if we dont keep our guard up.
