no urges or gambling thoughts of any kind today. . .Im sitting now lying on sofa watching ** *** news wi the blinds open watching the snow fall. . It looks so peaceful and yet it feels cosy watching from the warmth of the flat. . Tomorrow i have been invited to the theatre with the bairns and ex to see peppa pig (dont laugh). . Its amazing seeing a 2 year old scream for a pig on the tele so am looking forward to see her face tomorrow when she sees her on stage. . May i add its not all doom and gloom and that we do get on well sometimes. . Hopefully afterwards we can make a day of it by having a nice meal somewhere. .I have a wee bit put aside for tomorrow so i will reimburse the tickets and hopefully squeeze in a meal as well. . Sunday i am working. . Monday i have arranged with a few of the lads to go to carlisle to a museum to see an fa cup exhibition. . Looking forward to that and a few beers but not taking any chances and telling ex otherwise 20 questions will be asked and i will be the sad pathetic P i s s head again. . Oh and also a useless waste of space gambler !! Gambler bit i can understand now but got to enjoy life somehow with few drinks along the line. . . Keep up the good work folks and have a great weekend we CAN do this folks. .

Hi Post,

Look how well you are organising your life now, you should be proud. Good luck with the day out mate and that FA exhibition sounds well worth a look.

Have a happy gamble free weekend.

Hi Post and thanks for your recent support.. much appreciated.

I've just been reading a few of your recent posts. One of them struck accord. The young man being fed through a straw. I use to work with people with pro-found disabilities but somehow when am feeling sorry for myself and wanting to gamble I forget how much I really do have in life. I was down the pool the other day. A blind man was swimming in the lanes.. as best he could. He kept getting tangled up in the dividing rope. I can see he can't.. nuff said.

Have a great weekend... you seem to have a busy life.. keep safe.. S.A 🙂

Hey wp,

Thanks again for your words on my diary. I hope you're enjoying Peppa Pig whoever she (he, it?) is, but she sounds popular all the same. Rather you than me but its great to enjoy something through the kids eh?

I never thought I'd hear Carlisle and the FA cup talked about in the same sentence but you've shown anything is possible.

Have a good weekend and hope you enjoy a couple of beers Monday.

All the best and keep up the good work

wtl.

a quick update folks from computer at work...yesterday went very well, bit disappointed with the show mind,i personally thought they would be football mascot style figures but it turned out to be a puppeteer show lol :-0 ...never mind the bairn absolutely loved it,dont think a 2 year old would know the difference....finished off with nice italian so im well pleased...looking forward to tomorrow...think there will be about 10 of us....i like organising days oot, have organised golf days out in past though thing is when i look back 99% of my days out would be hexham.york, musselburgh, newcastle, some trips went as far as southwell and cheltenham for the day and brough park dogs...hopefully ive moved on a bit even though most folk enjoyed them trips...prob got name round work for being a loser but i ll show them i can do something different to the evil that is gambling....hope you re all having a bet free weekend and staying strong folks...together we can ALL do this...

finished work last night and read a few diaries. . I am quite sad really as there seemed to be a bit controversy in chat last night. . Both parties in question have been rocks no make that boulders in my recovery and i will continue to support them as i hope they will me. .i have mentioned in a diary before that maybe the moderators should start up a seperate forum for random gamblers as opposed to gamblers of 100 % abstinence. . I think there are 1000s out there who would benefit from a random gambling forum. . . Ive only been on this site since before christmas and there has been 2 controversial chat meetings from what i gather. .Although that is very minimal it could still be destructive to anyone who is attempting to abstain from gambling and maybe the moderators should look into this as well. . Where a meeting becomes heated it should be at some point cut off. . Looking forward to my day out today with absolutely no gambling whatsoever in my thoughts though as we all know the wee devil can "bite our b*m" at any time so im well on my guard. . Today i will not bet tomorrow i will not bet. . Have a nice day folks WE can do this. .

Post, nice level headed diary entry as usual. Everything you seem to say ids well thought out and I know you are going to beat this gambling lark as you are now realising that logically gambling is the thing to definitely not do.

All the best mate

Hi wp,

Hope nothing has 'bitten your b*m' today! What a chuckle I got from that expression!

I agree with Stumper - your post does make sense. Although I think in the long run everyone who is a CG will come around to the idea that abstaining is the only way - for those wishing to try controlled attempts it would be good if they had somewhere to discuss that freely.

Anyway more wisdom from you as per usual.
