another bet free day. . My mate rang me today giving me his season ticket for the match (newcastle) tomorrow. . Hope to take him up on it. .Been great week for seeing kids . . Until tonight a stupid fall oot for no reason(i just feel everything i do is not good enough or is wrong.it should be up to me to guide bairns best of my abilities and not feel like "big brothers" watching me all the time) and now am back to square 1 again. Just feels 1 step forward and 3 back. . Anyways see what tomorrow brings its so d**n frustrating i could SSSCCCRRREEEAAAMMM !!! Today i did not gamble tomorrow i wont gamble. . We can do this folks !!

Sorry about the family problems again mate--do you think that you might over react to criticism a little bit? Just asking as I think that sub consciously I sometimes feel an anger inside that does not show--perhaps linked to stopping gambling but perhaps not--which seems to make me over react in certain circumstances, usually when I am being criticised in a way that I perceive as being unfair.

Have a great day out on the 'Toon' if you decide to go. If not have a great non-gambling day anyway.

Good to see you have had a nice time with your family. Seems your ex has upset you and I am sorry to hear that Winning. Chin up eh and keep doing what you are doing, it's all good.

My friend is coming to see me from Cumbernauld...I really love it when we are together because we take the "P" out of each other's accents. I adore the Scottish accent and Scotland too.....one day maybe I will be persuaded to up sticks and settle here.

Sorry to read you say you have nothing else to offer to Chipper mate - you do a fine job supporting people on here...

captain. . Maybe im being a tad harsh possibly way am feeling but i REALLY have tried my hardest with chipper. .Dont know if you ve ever been to a ga meeting but ive been before and they can be such an inspiration thats why am puzzled as to why chipper still wants to punt. . Them meetings were good for me at the time but i chose to carry on gambling because i liked my days oot racing and sports bets. . Obviously a few years down the line here i am trying to abstain completely as i lost thousands more. . Them d**n exchanges ate all my credit cards and i had massive phone bills as i logged on all time from my phone. .today i thoroughly enjoyed the match but on the down side my texts and phone calls are not being answered. .on the positive side it was another pay day yesterday and gambling thoughts never entered my head. All bills creditors have been paid for another month. . Today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet. .we can do this folks.

Got to agree with you on this one wp. You offer great support to so many people on here. Your time is best spent on helping those who want to overcome their addiction.

Do you live in Newcastle wp? I went to university there in 95-96. Should have been 95-98 but gambled so much in 95-96 that another two years was not an option! Stayed in Cruddas Park in my 1st year and Heaton in 2nd year. Cruddas Park was like Beirut.

Hi wp,sorry to read that the ex is causing you a bit of grief,i'm sure things will settle down again soon,as you say 1 step forward 3 back....,so in 6 steps you move forward 2 :).Glad you enjoyed the football,your spot on my team play in the championship and the gulf in class from the premiereship is enormous.Like you i am very frustrated with Chipper....i will try to support him but as the saying goes "you can lead a horse to water......but you can't make it drink".

Looks like you saw a great game yesterday although I am sure it might have been a lower score had their keeper not been harshly sent off.

Seano's analogy is good but I would add you can only help those who want to be helped. We are lucky that we have reached the conclusion that it is time for us to stop gambling. Perhaps now is just not Chipper's time-only he can decide that. In sales I was always taught that no does not mean no -it means not now.

thanks for the continued support jeff yorkie seano curly and stumper....back to work today so posting from computer at work....yes curly i live in newcastle and agree cruddas park is not most comfortable places to live but these places can be found in almost any city(not that i live there by the way)...anyways think its changing its name to the riverside these days and them dodgy high rise flats are being totally revamped in an attempt to clean up its image i suppose....i was born and brought up near edinburgh but moved to newcastle after meeting lass at night oot..as you can tell its been an emotional rollercoaster ride almost from day 1 way back in 2001 but do realise my comp gambling had a lot to do with it....no gambling thoughts today as busy watcing football and working so thats a bonus...today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet...keep up the fight folks...we can do this...wp
