Sorry havent msgd in a few days - been a bit low and I see you have too. You're stuck in such a rotten situation and its so hard to rationalise with people who are just utterly unreasonable. The financial stuff is not ideal but hopefully you will manage. I know you feel stretched very thinly in that area already but Ive found somehow even when things get really desperate - there is still possibilities to manage.

Chin up buddy, you've come a long way and its not worth throwing away. If you get through next week its all downhill after that in terms of the gambling issue.

your never gonna believe this. . Ye just could nae make it up. . . Got text yest saying she misses me and can we try again. We been separated for so long now just dont know what to do.. . Ave got helluva lot of soul searching to do over next few days/weeks. .how can you go from wanting solicitors and making me incredibly miserable one week to trying again the next. .Am stumped. . . On the positive side going round there today to see kids 1st time in week so absolutely no chance of having a punt today and that in itself is most important so getting best of both worlds by seeing kids and not betting.. . Today i wont bet tomorrow i wont bet. . Its getting ever nearer folks. . . WE CAN GET THROUGH IT THOUGH FOLKS. .

It sounds as if she may have finally seen that you are a changed man from a few months ago. Whatever happens make sure you keep one eye looking for those little demons that will want to tempt you back into the bookies if things do not go as well as you hope.

thanks for your continued support guys. . 90 days today. . Although this is not g.a i have taken some tips from a leaflet towards the 1st 90 days. . .Anybody new to reading this diary here s a few tips i picked up. . 1 honesty we have to be honest with ourselves in our recovery. . 2 we will struggle unless we can admit and accept that gambling has us licked that there is no way we can win. . .3 one day at a time.most important for all us comp gamblers stay away from that bet 1 day at a time living our lives daily. .4 we have suffered chasing that BIG win when its never gonna happen. .5 we must always be on our guard.beware of complacency and the demons that can bring the pain back. . 6 stop living in the past whats gone has gone. . 7 opportunities missed the old ones are gone.look forward to new ones. . 8 fill the void. Theres a huge hole in our lives due to gambling. How do we find time to fill this hole. Keep our minds away from gambling. The lies the deceit the time chasing our money to feed our habit and the sleepless nights. . .9 only carry money you need to give in any temptations and finally 10 tell your partner everything (this includes you micheal mate) wipe the slate clean the embarrassment shame forgetfulness. As long as a comp gambler has a secret debt he/she is holding a ready made excuse to bet. . This is probably sounding a load of khak to most of you but it certainly helped me but the most important help i have and will hopefully continue to have is YOU PEOPLE on the diaries. . Thanks again folks much appreciated. .

another milestone today. 13 weeks 1/4 year very happy with that. . When i was so low way back in december i never thought id get this far but ive been suprised at my own strengths in fighting this. .it takes sheer grit and determination. Blood sweat and tears if you look at it like that. . I read on someones diary that they like to support someone who is struggling and not "sailing through" there recovery. . Well id like to meet someone who is finding it easy as some days ave been to hell and back with them evil demon urges. . Hopefully not shot myself in foot as we all know its a massive week for us. .I do remember though at least twice ruining my festival with stupid bets at plumton and stratford and CHASING MY LOSSES pre mondays before the big one and having nothin left to enjoy the week. .Best wishes to all for this week. WE CAN DO IT FOLKS !!

Well done on reaching another landmark day in your recovery mate. I can relate to your story about doing your dough on the Monday before Cheltenham and can also remember going there one year and having to leave after 5 races as I had no money left.

Hope you can resist the temptation over the next few days.

Thanks wp - I suppose all our situations are equally bad in different ways. You have other things on your mind too that can not be helping. In fact what you are dealing with in your personal life would be confusing for anyone let alone a gambler during festival week!

Hi wp,i have just mentioned on my diary that i would normally just be getting home from Stratford!!!,....isn't it incredible how we have all followed the same patterns of behaviour!!!.Brilliant on the 13 weeks,keep it up mate.
