Congrats on 13 weeks mate!!! Big achievement not to be underestimated.

Hope you resist the festival urges although i'm sure you will as you seem to be able to cope with a lot more nowadays. Great post listing 90 day points, I can relate to them all.

NINETY DAYS!!! That's a great achievement. It's an inspiration to myself, and many others no doubt.

This week will be tough for many of us. I'm keeping myself busy and not paying too much attention to things down in Cheltenham. I am playing in a Cup Final on Friday evening, so I'm just concentrating on getting myself in the right frame of mind for that. Winning the trophy will give me much more of a bigger and longer buzz than any winner on the horses.

I WILL NOT GAMBLE TODAY.

i am pleased you have managed to reach a milestone. it is an uphill journey but it glimmers of light does shine through occasionally to give us all hope. i am finding now that it doesn't have to be constant emotional turmoil and that giving up can give inner peace and harmony. although, i haven't been wholly successful, i have felt a change within me. i cannot explain the cause but hope that this basis will help me further. even though i have not been active in posting, you have still left me a post. i am touched by people's genuine concern and interest. your progress is indeed inspirational. keep it up.

just finished work so thought would log in. . At break time my mate showed me all his chelt bets for today and must say was very envious but managed to avoid the temptations. This is incredibly difficult. 26 races over 4 days and they want another day added. . Personally im a traditionalist and preferred the old 3 days as 4 or 5 tends to take away championship racing with run of the mill handicaps. . Today i wont bet tomorrow i wont bet we can do it folks !!

One day down three to go. Despite selecting A New Story at 25/1 in my tipping competition I have not missed the betting side at all.

Missing being there though.

Thanks for your post on my diary, haven't made it all the way through yours, its pretty long! But thats just a good sign, read the start and the end, and must say congratulations on doing as well as you have.

Your mate showing you his betting slips for the horses made you a bit envious... but at the same time think to yourself how much he's going to loose and how much you're going to keep in your pocket... got to be enough of an incentive not to put any bets on!

I hope to follow your example, as you saw from my diary I've just started, but to be completely honest the races have never really interested me, I think maybe because I don't understand how you're meant to pick the best horse out or something like that! In that case I think I'm lucky as I don't even know when big racing events are going on so don't have to fight temptation there!

Insolvency meeting went quite well thanks. I know what you mean about not stopping with the one bet--just watched some 3 legged nag win at 33/1 at Southwell-wonder how many Cheltenham racegoers blew there last few bob on that race!!
