Hi post,

Sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment, but well done for not gambling, sounds like you had major temptation today. Just try and remember the sick feeling you'd get if ya had a gamble, and more than that, I can remember you posting this a while ago : i even got a text saying "why dont i have a bet".that text actually lifted my spirits as it shows not only am i winning my personal fight on the gambling front but our tiny squabbles as well, think she running oot of ammunition with statements like that lol. Don't prove her right mate. Chin Up pal.

Stay Strong

Steve

Hey wp,

If we weren't susceptible to the urges then we wouldn't be CG's and probably wouldn't be in the situations we are. The important thing is that you had the controls in place to stop you from gambling when you wavered.

With such a big sporting weekend as we are having, my temptations are also growing, but it would be difficult to actually place the bet in the first place, so that keeps me in my place. Importantly, you are still gamble-free, and all that hard work of rebuilding hasn't come crumbling down.

As Steve said, stay strong, and nights will be over soon so it will get better.

wp,i'm glad you got through yesterday without having a bet.....,mind you i was also surprised when i read that you had actually been in the bookies and watched some racing, you must have been feeling really low to have put yourself in a position where you felt like punishing yourself!!!,good job you have the blocks in place to make it nigh on impossible to gamble.Just goes to show how we need to be on our guard all the time.I'm glad your feeling more upbeat today, stay strong.

When I read of your near miss I thought that you meant that you had a near miss in the train---then I realised it was nothing serious as you were only talking about gambling.

I see you say it was the worst day for a long while---sounds to me that it turned out to be one of the best days for a while as you resisted the urges.

I know you can do this

Hey wp,

I like that you too were rooting for Blackpool, I had torn feelings about that game as I would like to see Cardiff in the Prem, but Holloway is such an entertaining manager, and I hope that they take that attacking 433 into next season and attack everyone, and let Holloway come up with his crazy metaphors for the cameras.

Should be an interesting 9 months.

All the best

Well done for overcoming that majoy urge. The more you overcome them the easier it will be. But it will be a very long time before they go away - after all we have had a lifetime of giving in to those urges.

Just remember what you would have done if you had won. What would you have done with the money?

I think that we all know the answer to that one...

Kill those urges!

Hi wp,

I'm really glad you managed not to gamble when you got the urge the other day. I often used to see gambling as an escapre from other stresses in my life. Nothing in my life has ever caused more stress than gambling though so that is a bit stupid of me i think!

Stay out of those bookies though mate. I remember a few months back when i walked in through the door of one after an absence of around 4 months. Took me 10 seconds to place a bet and i was right back where i started.

Good to see you planning a trip to St Andrews with your dad this summer. It gives me goosebumps that place. Most nervous shot in golf standing on that first tee looking down the widest fairway in the world but feeling the ghost of Bobby Jones on your shoulder!

Take it easy wp.

Morning Winning,

Thank goodness you didn't cave in to that urge to gamble on Saturday. Well done you 🙂

You have come a long way in your recovery and that's great to see. Those urges will always be there...the gambling Gods are very patient! Keep all your blocks in place and keep going. It's worth all the hard work.

What a fantastic day. The sun is out, only 5 days to the weekend and no gambling.

Could life be any better mate?
